Pardon me if the process is hard-to-follow. I didn't take too many screenshots while making this, so there'll be some gaps that most artists showing their own art process wouldn't skip. Basically- 1. I had find a character/object to print out and grid-draw* for a Digital Art assignment. I chose the character No-One from the 1HP Club WEBTOON. This is the original art that the original artist, elfboi (also known as Theo), did for the comic. 2. To the right is the printed original of No-One. To the left is my grid drawing of her, first drawn in pencil, then outlined in a thin Sharpie pen. 3. I did some digital lineart on my iPad with a stylus to clean up the lines. I traced over the paper drawing on here. The image on the side is a reference sheet that Theo made. I'm going to use it for the colors. 4. This is the completed digital lineart. It's not exactly the same as the paper one because I tweaked a few lines, which I like better. The whole lineart has even lines of the same size and this is what I prefer. 5. This was the first look at basic coloring and shading. I needed to polish it for the final piece. The teacher expected me to use Photoshop to color, but I prefer this way. He accepted it either way, so no points docked for this! 6. Here's the final piece! I'm quite happy with how this turned out, though it really isn't as good as Theo's art, I can't expect to draw at her level. Please don't steal my art- I have a watermark hidden somewhere in the drawing in case of art theft. Hope you enjoyed :D *Grid-drawing is a technique that artists use when they want to size up or shrink a drawing, but want it to be accurate! They use a numbered and lettered grid as a guide.
elfboi/Theo for the original art of No-One and the comic 1HP Club. Go check her comic out here! https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/1hp-club/list?title_no=2960 Dungeons and Dragons! If you haven't known already, No-One is a character from a real D&D campaign that elfboi was apart of. The drawing app I used was iArtbook! It's like a free version of Procreate for iOS.
