☾ ᴛʜᴇ ɴɪɢʜᴛ ɪs ᴄᴏᴍᴇ, ʙᴜᴛ ɴᴏᴛ ᴛᴏᴏ sᴏᴏɴ ☽ Hello and welcome to my application for the lovely Umbrakit! I’m the project I have included most of the criteria. Click on a button to view the section and then click on the slide to go to the next (unfortunately I ran out of time to finish the code and one of the drawings so the project is very basic and only has one picture of Umbra) ☾ ᴀɴᴅ sɪɴᴋɪɴɢ sɪʟᴇɴᴛʟʏ ☽ Why would I like Umbra? When I saw these designs I knew I had to apply for one! I found it very hard to decide which though, so I decided by brainstorming what they’d each be like based on their pose and other factors. I came to realise that if I applied for Halfmoon, her fatal flaw would be nervousness or worry because she is half blind. I have had multiple characters with disability like this, and - in my research for those characters - I found how half-blind cats behave: they tend to be frightened and scared that they could be injured as they cannot see clearly, and often will be very jumpy around new things. That made me make up my mind, because I think it’ll be very interesting and fun to roleplay a character who’s fatal flaw is insecurity or competitiveness rather than another who’s is anxiousness. One of the things I love most about roleplaying is character interactions, and these traits would make this a lot more interesting. I’d also looked at Briarblossom and Bluestalk’s personalities and I’ve been writing various parts of her personality, trivia, etc over the past few days and I’ve grown quite attached to her. I absolutely adore Umbrakit, and I hope to be able to flesh her out fully in roleplays. She’s an absolute star <3 ☾ ᴀʟʟ sɪʟᴇɴᴛʟʏ, ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ᴍᴏᴏɴ ☽ Trivia: • She has two favourite colours: sage green and dark purple. She finds them both calming and would love to have a plant and flower in those colours that she could wear • Her scent is willow bark and lavender • Her MBTI is INTJ-T (Archtiect) -> 87 percent introverted -> 83 percent intuitive -> 76 percent thinking -> 75 percent judging -> 86 percent turbulent • Her favourite food is minnows (“Although they’re small and don’t provide much energy they taste the nicest out of all the fish”) and her favourite land food is squirrel • Her favourite flower is lavender (“I like purple and green, and I love the scent. It’s very relaxing”) • She enjoys stargazing and can often be found gazing up at the sky • She doesn’t know whether to believe in StarClan or not, but would never voice these concerns • Her favourite time of day is night or dusk (“It’s quiet and the stars shine so brightly. It feels as though you’re the only cat in the world, yet it isn’t lonely”) • Her voice is quiet and commanding, and is an average pitch • She is terrified of fire ☾ ᴅʀᴏᴘs ᴅᴏᴡɴ ʙᴇʜɪɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ sᴋʏ. ☽ Roleplay example (set around the time she’s an apprentice so I just used her prefix) ORP || RiverClan camp || Dusk || As an icy breeze whistled through, a slender and very fluffy she-cat gazed up at the rapidly darkening sky. Umbra’s velvety grey fur, still soft from kithood, was fluffed up against the frosty gales that tore through RiverClan’s territory. Despite her shivering, she still gazed upwards at the streaks of indigo and the dashes of deep blue that fluttered across the horizon, her bright aqua eyes wide with curiosity. /The stars look like tiny pearls washed in by the tide/ she reflected, content with being lost in her thoughts. An owl screeched from far away and she jumped, leaping to her feet instantly. The only sign of Umbra’s annoyance at being startled so easily was that her tail tip twitched, and she took a few steps backwards. “Sorry!” She blurted as she realised she had accidentally backed into another cat. /Calm down, Umbra, it’s alright. You shouldn’t have made that mistake though/ Her thoughts chastised, a chaotic whirlwind of emotion clouding her head. Her ear twitched and she lifted her chip up as she regained her composure. She surveyed the other cat, tilting her head to the side in curiosity; Umbra’s desire to know who they were was burning, yet she couldn’t quite phrase the words she needed to introduce herself. She glanced back up at the dusk sky and then back to the newcomer, waiting for something that even she wasn’t quite sure of. I absolutely love Umbra, and I’ve enjoyed writing about her so, so much and drawing her was lovely <3
