Kendric walked the frosty ground, shivering slightly. Hey, maybe he should take a dip in the freezing water. That would raise his heartrate, right? He paused for a moment. Maybe not. It would probably slow his heartbeat. He shook himself, bored. There was *nothing* he could do for the thrill. *Nothing.* Primrose droopily laid in Krevic's den, with her head laid against the floor, and paws stiffly forward. She felt so tired, so drained from her depressing confession, which she hoped to force herself to pursue the fib that it wasn't true. But in the back of her mind, she knew it was. He walked around boredly, soon stopping as a familiar scent came over him. He turned and began to pad warily towards the scent. Primrose continued to lay, wondering if she should just drift asleep. He approached the den entrance. He could now tell it was Primrose, but something was....wrong. "Primrose?“ Primrose jolted, hurting her limp leg worse and raising her head. Who- who called her? She groaned, looking back at her swollen and a bit torn leg, biting her bottom lip. He blinked in alarm. "Hey, are you okay?” She swung her head back to him, pinning her ears forward and gritting her teeth to simulate the false statement that she was being aggressive. "What are you doing in the Krevic den?!""Um, I don't know. But that doesn't matter. What matters is whether you’re okay or not." "It doesn't matter." Primrose huffed, narrowing her eyes. "You're lucky I'm allied with Haysha, or else this would go badly for you." He shrugged. "But *are* you okay? That leg doesn't look too good." "I'm fine, I just need Lynn." Primrose quickly brushed it off, frowning. He nodded, frowning as well. "Hey, uh, I'm really sorry about last time." He was sorry? For what- oh. The doofus falling over her. Primrose stared silently, deciding to be gracious. "It's fine, really. It doesn't hurt... That much." He winced, "Yeah, sorry." "Like I said, it's fine." Primrose said a bit more sharply, sighing. He nodded, "Okay." Primrose stared at him, wondering where this would now go. "Um, I'm not much of a mind reader, but you look like you need to vent." Primrose furrowed her brows, coldening her gaze. No. She didn't have a lick of trust for him, and besides, she had just vented an hour or two ago. "No. I'm fine." He flicked his tail uneasily. "Hey, I'm just trying to be nice, no need to get snappy." "Excuse me for not trusting every wolf I see." Primrose growled, realizing she had just let that piece of information loose. Great. He gave a nervous grin. "Thats understandable. Doesn't mean I won't try to help you." "Help? There is nothing I need help with." Primrose said quickly, getting a bit anxious he'd attempt to befriend her. He shrugged. "You can say that all you want, but it doesn't change the fact I know you do." Primrose felt herself start to incline to get nervous, far too quickly. No. She didn't- she didn't need a friend, and he was part of the reason her leg ached as it did! Yes, she was also gripped by a bear, but... still! "I don't know what you're talking about." Primrose denied, with fear of being caught in her tone and eyes. He frowned, his face concerned. "Hey, there’s no reason to be afraid." He said soothingly. "I- I'm not afraid. I'm an Alpha." Primrose argued, narrowing her eyes to appear to be fierce, which was the exact opposite. He sighed. Primrose gave really herself a firm nod to confirm this, and made a mental note not to stutter at all in the future. "Primrose...“ "What?" "You don't need to deny help because you’re afraid." "I am not afraid. Quit insinuating that nonsense." She denied, gritting her teeth. "I can tell you’re afraid. I used to be like that, and I still kind of am. When things are stressing you out, its best to let others who care know than having to bare the burden yourself. Let others carry some of the weight for you." "I've no need to depend on others. And if you're so sure that I'm afraid, then tell me, what am I afraid of?" "Opening up and being alone. Befriending others and having them turn on you." She flexed her jaw, saying nothing. How? She- she had to reply quickly, or he'd recognize she'd been caught. "Well, I'll have you know that is not a fact. I happen to pride being solitary." "Your face is marked with the streaks of tears." She slightly widened her eyes, realizing she forgot to brush off the faint stains. Quickly wiping her eyes with her paws, she set them back down. "Please, just leave me be." He sighed. "I'll be outside." "Thank you." Primrose sighed with relief, flopping her head down. He nodded and stood, going outside the den and laying down. He nodded and stood, going outside the den and laying down. Primrose didn't know why, but she just let him go and lay. She didn't force him to leave, because she was allied with Haysha and he was from that pack. Yes, that was why. But why did he make an effort to make her feel better? Probably because he felt guilty for falling on her. But still... (Cont below)
Primrose hated how personal the situation had just quickly escalated, and the fact that he was trying to befriend her, for some incomprehensible reason. Why would anyone wish to be friends with her? He looked into the den, huffing. She looked back to him, hearing his huff. What? What did he have to be aggravated about? He laid his head on his paws, sighing. He understood her. If only she would let him in. He could help her. "So you're just going to sleep there?" Primrose huffed, flicking her tail. "No. But I'm staying here till you are feeling better." "I didn't feel bad in the first place." "Tears don't lie." "Fine. They were tears from my hurt leg. Happy?" She lied, growling. "You’re lying." "I am not. I have no motive to lie, anyways." "Your leg isn't broken." "That doesn't mean it doesn't hurt." "A sprain and bear bite doesn't hurt that much." "You're one to talk." Primrose snarled, starting to get defensive. "I actually can because I've experienced both." "You probably didn't have it combined, Kendric." Primrose hissed. "Besides, it wasn't enough a bear had to grip my leg an tear it, you just happened to fall over me." He winced. "I'm sorry okay!? I'm really sorry!" Sorry. Please. Primrose set her head down with a wrinkled snout, now feeling rather bitter. And this was exactly why she shouldn't ever try to open up. It'd just end in a disaster. He groaned. "Whyyyyyyyy are you so difficult??? I've apologized like five times!!" Primrose didn't reply, softening her gaze. She was just being difficult because she didn't want to be find out... And he partially had found her out, which he could use to stab her in the back whenever he wished to. "I don't want to hurt you okay? I just want to help you." She looked up to him, flattening her ears against her head. God she'd regret this, but the fact he was starting to get to her made her concerned, and maybe she should get all heartfelt so that he'd leave her alone in the future. "Fine. I'm not okay." She softly said, immeadietly regretting it. He sighed. "Wasn't so hard." He stood and walked into the den, looking at her. "Tell me whats ailing you."'Wasn't so hard,’ He was just making her regret it worse. She continued to stay in her position, but watched him walk in wearily. "Not much, I suppose." "You can tell me. I'm here for you." "You can't be here for me... You hardly even know me... And I'm a fool for saying anything." She sighed, wanting to bypass this now. "No, no you’re not a fool. You’re a perfectly capable Alpha. And I *can* be here for you. You're allied with Haysha. They won't question me crossing the border to an allied pack." "True..." He laid down, giving her his full attention. "Well, I guess I'm scared, of dying alone." She wryly smiled "It's stupid, I know." He opened and closed his mouth. They related more than he could imagine. "Um. I am too." He looked away. He had never admitted that. Primrose looked to the side, feeling a bit uneasy. She... Shouldn't have said that. And she was starting to hate herself for admitting these things. He wasn't even in Krevic... Why on Earth was Primrose doing this? Kendric coughed, feeling *very* uncomfortable. "Um." "I shouldn't have said said anything..." Primrose quickly said, avoiding eye contact. "No, no, you’re fine. I'm glad you did." "Why?" "It means you’re getting somewhere. Opening up can make you feel better. Now instead of you carrying that burden by yourself, I'm sharing with you. And I can promise you. No one will be told without you knowing first." He promised, looking her in the eye to let her know he meant it. "Why do you want to befriend me?" Primrose looked him back cautiously, with her ears still pinned back. "Because I believe friends are essential to living a happier life. Friends are there for you when you need them. They help you when you need help and it looks like you need some friends.” “…” He fell to an awkward silence. "...Do you feel better?" “Not… really?” "Is something else bothering you?" “I mean no but… I just still don’t understand you… or your intentions completely.” /Neither do I/, He thought. "I want to make you feel better. I don't like seeing wolves who are upset." “I guess that’s… nice.” Primrose looked to him, with a small smile. He smiled back at her. Primrose’s eyes trailed down, blinking. He looked away. OKAY GUYS DON’T SHIP XDDD anyways yep someone got a step closer ;) a lovely rp with @Adhirukma !
