So after 3 lazy projects in a row, I decided to do something more... n o r m a l. Basically this is how I do art on bitmap, but it's not how you should do it, it's just how I do it, anyway, I hope it helps ! | space or click | 1. First I draw a sketch of what I want to draw, and so I decide the pose of my caracter and anatomy (smol legs and big head because this caracter will be a kit) 2. Then I do the lineart ! Just you must do it in a different color than the sketch, otherwise it will mess things up when it will come to colors. Don't forget to make your lineart as an enclosed shape, so coloring it will be more practical. 3. I fill up the lineart with the same color as the sketch color, and it makes it easier to color the art later. Just don't fill up with the same color as the lineart, or it will go VERY WRONG. 4. This step needs alot of patience to do ;-; Basically you just clean the sketch lines that were outside the lineart, and fix the lineart itself if it needs to. 5. Fill in the basic colors of the caracter, no details need to be added yet (like patterns and patches of colors etc) 6. Add the details :D 7. Shadowing ! Find your light source, and shadow according to it. (also I fixed some lineart in this step) 8. And now for the lighting, I have nothing to say really, I'm bad at it myself. :'D 9. Change the lineart color according to your caracter's main color (In my case, orange) and make it darker than the rest, so that the art still has visible lines. 10. Add background. Nothing to say here :'D And ta-da ! That's how I make art on bitmap here on Scratch. Maybe it helped you a bit :)
