Leif Ericson explored the Americas 500 years before Christopher Columbus, we only actually celebrate Columbus day because he was the first English person to sail to America. So, we should celebrate Leif Ericson day (today/oct. 9th) instead of Columbus day (Oct.12) because Ericson was, technically the first outsider person to explore The Americas. and don't leave a comment saying native americans were the first to explore America, because I'm talking about people who were not already from america!
