i'm in love with the greek mythos idea of people being turned into plants for random reasons so... here ya go [quick note: none of the people mentioned are actually figures in greek mythos, i just like the names] ~ ʟᴏᴛᴜs's ᴘᴏᴠ: "lotus!" i turned around to see my girlfriend, calliope, running through the shallows of a moonlit pond towards where i was standing. the water splashed with every step she took, pushing away the lily pads from the edge of the water. when she reached me, i grabbed her hands and spun her around in the pond, laughing as we fell from the dizziness. i thought the joy would never end. but all good things come to an end, right? nothing lasts forever, right? and yet we still focus on our happy memories and moments... we still make the moments last as long as we can... and that's what we did that night. we forgot all the threats around us. but it didn't last. unarmed, i was surrounded by a team of archers, all aiming at me. calliope wasn't there, and i knew that she was able to escape into the shadows of the forest around the lake. one of the archers, however, made their way towards me with a [sharp object] in her hand, and they would hold it against my neck. "i told you that you would regret what you did," they said, starting to push the [sharp object] inward. i remembered that i had gone on a trip with their sister a few months ago, but their sister would fail to return after a wolf attack, leading to them resenting me. i failed to find my voice. i stood silently in the pond as the [sharp object] pushed closer and closer. and then everything went black. ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇ's ᴘᴏᴠ: as the archers scattered into the depths of the trees, i came out of my hiding spot, finding lotus floating on the [red-liquid]stained lake. suddenly, it was so much harder to walk. my legs felt frozen and stuck. when i made my way over to her, a tear fell on her face. i watched as she vaporized into the cool midnight air, tinting the air with a light-pinkish aura. in her place, there was a flower, lying on the surface of the water. a beautiful flower, the bright yellow center being the color of her eyes, the tips of the petals being the color of her hair. i touched the flower with my fingertips, muttering softly, so only the water would carry the words. "i miss you..." and i made my way away from the lotus flower.
also don't yell at me for bad grammar and not capitalizing my sentences, that's the point because i like the lowercase i's, m's, n's and other letters better lmao <3 ~ word count: 397
