30 years. 30 years ago, it was the year 1993. All was mostly well in the world. Especially on March twenty third of that year. On March 23rd, 1993, the Nintendo game Kirby's Adventure was released. With this game, many new elements were added that became important elements of the franchise, such as Copy Abilities. But there was one thing in particular that was introduced that was utterly revolutionary. Or dare I say someone. Kirby's Adventure marked the debut of the character known as Meta Knight. Back then, he was completely different. He was a simple Spanish-appearing knight with adorned with a simple mask, a basic sword, and a cape which he occasionally held. He has evolved much throughout the years, in design, personality, and perhaps even bits of fame. Meta Knight obviously became well known when Super Smash Bros. Brawl released for the Wii in 2008. He was immediately known infamously by the community as "broken" and was placed in SS tier, and remained that way all throughout. This is a record no other character from any game holds. Meta Knight also technically won a Grammy last year, when The 8-Bit Band won in "Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A Capella" for their version of "Meta Knight's Revenge," becoming only the second ever video game OST to ever win. And we all know about his popularity in the community. Among most, he /is/ the fan favorite, and that's not bias. People all over love him for how mysterious yet apparently caring he is portrayed to be. In this way, he truly is an icon. Meta.... happy thirty years, good friend, and may you live on forever in the glory that you deserve. I will be here to back you for as long as possible. --- #art #games #Nintendo
