the chapter of twos. Quietclan. Flystar's perspective. They padded back into camp, Brindletail's body carried by Wishfur and Lakewhisker. Sorrelwing brought up the rear of the patrol, head bowed in a deep sadness and grief. All around the camp cats stopped what they were doing, staring at the body and then Flystar. "Leave her body there." Flystar whispered to Lakewhisker, gesturing with her muzzle to beneath the tallridge. Lakewhisker nodded, and placed Brindletail's body down. "Let all cats gather around the tallridge for a clan meeting!" called out Flystar, a tremor in her voice that luckily no cat detected. Slowly cats clustered around, muttering among themselves. "Flystar! What happened?" called Brackenfoot, a light grey tabby queen, and one of Brindletail's best friends. Brindletail's kits stood next to Brackenfoot's, staring at their mother's body with wide eyes. "She was murdered." replied Flystar. "By a Shadeclan cat." The other cats gasped uneasily, turning back to whisper among themselves again, wondering if this would mean war. "Quiet down." Lakewhisker called, her amber eyes piercing into the talking cat's pelts. This time Flystar didn't try to disguise the grief in her voice. "We shall have a ceremony tonight, to send off her spirit, into the Dark Forest." For the Dark Forest was the afterlife that Quietclan had always followed. "But before that begins, I have some other things to announce. Hawkpaw, Littlepaw, will you each come forward, please?" The two she-cats stepped forward, excitement clear in their yellow eyes. "I, Flystar, leader of Quietclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand your ways, and I commend them you as a warrior in their turns. Hawkpaw, Littlepaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of our ancestors, and their code?" "We do!" called the two soon-to-be warriors. "Then Hawkpaw, I now pronounce you Hawktalon. And Littlepaw, I now pronounce you Littlesmoke. The Dark Forest honors your bravery and kindness, and we welcome you as full warriors of the clan." "Hawktalon! Littlesmoke!" cheered the Quietclan cats, their grief momentarily forgotten-however, it was quickly remembered as Flystar cleared her throat, looking down at Brindletail's kits. "Wrenkit. Finchkit. Your injuries are healed, so it is time for you to become apprentices." Despite them being Brindletail's kits, Flystar knew the clan needed more apprentices. "You may choose your own mentors." "I want my mentor to be Sorrelwing!" Wrenkit mewed. "She's my older sister, after all!" "Sorrelwing, do you accept Wrenkit as your apprentice?" asked Flystar. "Yes. I do." replied Sorrelwing. "Then Wrenkit, you shall be known as Wrenpaw. And Finchkit, who do you wish for your mentor to be?" Finchkit hesitated. "I wish to be mentored by Wishfur." "Wishfur, do you accept Finchkit as your apprentice?" "Yes." "Then Finchkit, you shall be known as Finchpaw." The rest of the clan cheered the two newly-made apprentices. "Now, everycat should go get some rest, except for those participating in the vigil." Flystar mewed. A few cats drifted off to their dens, but most stayed for the vigil, including all of Brindletail's kits. well, there's chapter two! hope ya'll liked it :] feel free to suggest plot ideas/suggest stuff.
