Chap. 6 Slayy I dont have writer’s block anymore !! Ask me how happy I am <33 First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/811375357 Next: not out yet! ___________________________________________________ “Where did that rodent come from?” Ah, yes. My mouse. It’s leg is broken (I believe) and it is really cold. Maybe it’s hungry..? I look up from my mouse. Hm, i haven’t seen this person before. “I’m sorry.. rodent?” She laughs. Not the good kind. “To be completely fair with you, that rodent looks half de@d. At this point, you should just make a grave for it.” I shoot daggers at her. “Why don’t you quit pestering me? Go bother someone else!” She glances back at me before she leaves, and makes a face. “You know, I really don’t think Miss Taylor is going to allow you having a rodent in the house.” I jump up from the pink chair. “Stop calling it a rodent!” I holler. “It is clearly a mouse. And I’ll have you know Miss Taylor wouldn’t care if I’d have a rat in the house. She wouldn’t even mind it if I had a lion!” She scoffs. “Yeah, I actually doubt that. She’ll probably make stew out of that.” She laughs loudly. I roll my eyes, pick up my mouse and shove past her and head towards the stairs. “Hey! Where are you going, off to tell Miss Taylor I’m bothering you?” I glance back and furrow my eyes. “H3ck no. I’m getting food for her.” “I’m sorry.. her?” I put my mouse on my shoulder. This mouse has some really strong paws. “Yeah, don’t you know Celeste is a girl?” “Celeste? A girl?” I reach the kitchen and open the fridge door. Nothing but grapes, a bit of cheese, and some ham. I grab it all. __________________________________________________ I place the plate down and Immediately, Celeste starts eating. There’s nothing on that plate except for small pieces of cheese, some green grapes, and the small left-overs of ham. “This must be a really big feast for you, huh, Celeste?” I ask. I pause. Am I really talking to a mouse? “Ah, of course. I don’t expect you to respond. After all, you’re a mouse.” ___________________________________________________ I’m in my new room Reading one of the many books I brought with me when there’s a knock at the door. “Hope? You in there?” It’s Conner. He doesn’t know about Celeste yet. I rush to the book shelf and place Celeste down gently and hide her behind some books. I managed to hide her just in time. Conner walks into the room. “Oh, great. Miss Taylor is starting movie night.. want to join?” I look out the big window. “Movie night? But it’s still day.” I say. He laughs. “Believe me, by the time we get through all of the movies, it’s going to be midnight.” I laugh. I dont know what i find funny, yet i laugh. “Okay, I’ll be down soon.” He smiles, and I can’t help but look into his gray eyes. “I’ll tell Miss Taylor.” He’s about to walk out when he stops, and turns to face me. “I’m really glad you’re liking it here so far.” I nod. He heads downstairs. “I am, too.” I know nobody can hear me, but even I need to hear that from time to time. ___________________________________________________ By the time I get downstairs, There’s a big battle on what movie we should watch. Logan is saying we should watch the Titanic, Conner and Simeon are saying we should watch the Spiderwick Chronicles, and Miss Taylor is saying we should watch a scary movie (which, to be fair, the spiderwick chronicles IS a scary movie). “What movie do you think we should watch, Hope?” Logan asks. I actually almost forgot the whole incident (the question) that happened at lunch. “Um, I’m actually not sure, you all chose really great movies..” “See? She wants to watch The Spiderwick Chronicles, she just doesn’t want to hurt your feelings, Lo.” Simeon teases. “Oh, shut up!” I laugh as the two start throwing pillows at each other. “Okay, okay. I must admit, I really want to see that chronicles movie.” Simeon and Conner high five. “You’re my best friend now.” Simeon calls to me, and I can’t help but smile. I think staying here might not be so bad after all.
