Saloons, and small saloons in particular were very popular in the Zambra's home market of Spain, and many countries in Eastern Europe (such as Lithuania, Poland, Greece, Serbia or Romania to name a few examples), so it's hardly a shock to learn they were vastly popular in most of these places, getting to some of the bestselling car lists. As with most cars, the Zambra was flawed by one thing... Build quality. No, it wasn't horrendous, but it was rather pitiful compared to the other HOS' of the era. Due to the high demand in many Eastern European markets, a factory in Slovakia was quite literally thrown up and to say build quality was not a concern would be an understatement. The components, were fine. The pieces, were fine. Everything SHOULD have gone together but it is still a genuine mystery as to how on this holy earth these MK3 Zambra's were built this poorly. Anyway, like the Críquet, you still see the odd one of these rocking around, that be with the typical dents, scrapes and road dust in a car park with only the interior trim making that noise, or in a quiet forest car park in the dead of night where the only noise heard is the interior trim squeaking and rattling.
