This is 100% pen. GO TO https://turbowarp.org/818086832 FOR NO LAG. Remember to love, fave and follow. All other instructions are in-game. Thumbnail is pen. Clarifications (IMPORTANT!): This is not a sequel to Grassworld 1, it is an improvement of it. Press B in game to return to menu SCROLL OFFSET determines how much the player is offset from the center. SCROLL SPEED determines how fast the camera will move towards the offset. IF THE OFFSET IS ZERO, SPEED DOES NOT MATTER. Credits: @griffpatch for some bug-fixing scripts for platforming issues. @TimMcCool, @I8D, @Toadfanschool, rob1221, and Geometry Dash for inspiration for many graphical designs and several scripts (i.e, player design, grass effect) @MaxyBrian for playtesting and feedback. @chipm0nk for contest. Music: Summer Vibes - Elektronomia Summertime - Erik Lund Hardeyes - Tevvez Mystique - Tevvez Summersong 2020 - Elektronomia Pixel Party - Vexento Cycles - DJVI Everything else by me. I made my own PTE, rect fill, line collision scripts, and a lot of other stuff for this.
Rant: After nearly a year of working, countless hours, and over 8500 blocks, I have finished this project. I started this project around April 2022, almost a year ago, intending to create the most aesthetically pleasing, immersive, and nostalgic pen platformer I could, to remind me and others of the good and bad of Scratch in 2020. Scratch was a big part of by life in 2020, and I wanted to recreate the nostalgia of 2020 platformers, generic or non-gerneric, using the same one-eyed cube player, and to make as high-quality a scrolling platform game as I could. A lot of the graphics I created were heavily inspired by graphics in projects such as by , and by . These were the two pen platformers that inspired the projects I created and the coding style I adopted. These projects taught me how to make the pen platformers that I do. I chose the music based on how I wanted each level to feel. I wanted the daytime levels to feel as nostalgic and summerlike as possible, and I wanted the nighttime levels to feel dark (but not too dark). I used Vexento track "Pixel Party" for the menu, as it was probably the most common platformer song in 2020. I made level 5 a freeby in order to reward the player for completing the harder levels, and for maximum nostalgic effect. However, this project has taken way too much time to finish. I had thought I would finish around August 2022, and I was making good progress. In July, I had finished 3 levels, but over time I started working on it less and less. Only recently did I start grinding this project again and I decided to enter it into this contest. This project is the culmination of my journey on Scratch, it is my ode to Scratch, to something that meant so much to me in quarantine. I don't know if I will make any more projects in the future, and if I do, they will probably be much smaller in magnitude, as each project I make becomes bigger and bigger. Well thanks for playing my game, and for reading my essay, and remember to heart, star and follow! :) - "That one day, we'll look back at where we started and be amazed by how far we've come." - Technoblade Tags: .0
