Spoilers for up to s3 e5 !! things get a little heated :3 === STUFF WRITTEN BEFORE E3- (btw if you ship Bo x Din I mean no hate to you but maybe skip over this next part) omfg if Favloni is setting up Bo x Din I'm going to EXPLODE also just 0/10 ship in general. They don't work. I see what they're trying to do with the kinda enemies to allies to friends to *gagging* but NO. STOP THAT. SINGLE DAD DIN SOLIDARITY (do whatever you want in fanon, CANON DIN IS AROACE THANK YOU VERY MUCH) anyhoo that timeline thing huh. you're telling me it's been 10 years since we've met Din. There is noooo way. 1. Din and Grogu would have been together for almost 8 years and you're telling me it took THAT LONG to get Din and Grogu to the point of the relationship they were at in the end of s2. 2. Din would in his 50s/almost 60. And he's still slaying without being like "oh my joints" pls I'm 15 and I complain about my back. (and then i forgot about this project until 3 weeks later) STUFF WRITTEN AFTER E3 through E5- hey guys I'm unwell first of all ZEB!!!! OH MY GOD??? HE LOOKS SO GOOD ALKJFALKJFSLK um. ok so how do they continue messing this up?? We are over halfway through the season. What is the plot??? I do not know. Ep 5 ended with a little hope for a plot I guess but just think about it.... e6-8 in s2 had Grogu getting snatched, the mission for Moff's coordinates where Din first broke the creed, and then that INCREDIBLE finale that I'm still salty they ruined by unraveling the entirety of the ending in a spin-off :)) So far this season has had not a lot of build up to an over-arcing plot. Mando has always been more of an episodic show, but with plenty of build up along the way to capture viewers attention. This season has not been it, ya know? so I wrote out how they could have made season 3 good! -Din cameo in tbobf but that's it. Grogu reunion doesn't happen until maybe ep3 of s3 -The first few eps of s3 are back in forth from Din's pov to Grogu's pov. It shows them both struggling with being separated but also them on their journeys learning more about their cultures (Din feeling the pressure of becoming Mand'alor and Grogu training as a padawan). -Eventually Din goes to visit Grogu. Luke teaches him how to wield the Darksaber a bit better, and Din and Luke come to realize that Grogu fits better learning both of their ways. Therefore, Din gets to take Grogu to go on more side quests with him :D -Din and Grogu prepare to go back to Mandalor (this takes a few eps with more build up instead of happening in ep2). He acquires the help of the members of his creed (Paz, the Armorer) and Bo -The group realizes that Mandalor is still habitable and make the decision to start rebuilding civilization on the planet -uh idk other stuff happens but DO YOU SEE MY GENIUS??? IT WOULD WORK SO MUCH BETTER I know it's been a joke in the past that Din wants to be a side character so badly and unfortunately this is what seems to be happening. I figure it might be because of Pedro spending time filming tlou and not being on set for Mando that often, but gaaah still. They haven't shown ANYTHING about how Din's feeling being the rightful heir to Mandalor because of the darksaber. And also they've only shown the darksaber in like.. one episode??? what the heck????? This show is centered around Din and Grogu's relationship as father and son, and they DEFINITELY still have room to develop that relationship but I feel like it's just been on pause. We see them being cute and protective of each other but there hasn't been any other real development besides that? guys I want to hear Grogu call Din "buir" so badly I will literally be screaming crying throwing up anyway because I need to stop being so frustrated at everything, let's talk about Grogu :D I love Star Wars puppets so much. He's so goofy looking.... the backflips, the waddle running,,, he is everything to me (and Din) It's so obviously puppeted too. The beautiful balance of this show and Andor alsdkjlksdjf. Star Wars is about the corrupt government systems and being able to be truly free and love and seeing the best in everyone and daddy issues, yes of course,,,, but it's also about cheesy af puppets and terrible one liners and so silly goofy things happening and now... let us take a moment to appreciate how terrible written out the Mandalorians are <3 -They are living on a desert planet inhabited by dinosaurs -It has been stated multiple times that the dinosaurs regularly eat Mandalorians (they do nothing about this) -During training, they shoot at the open body of water where it is known that a giant angy fish that wants to eat them (no targets or anything. they just shoot at nothing) -It also has been mentioned that they don't have any ships, leaving me with the question how the HECK did they get to this planet??? Did they jet pack over? Did Din give them a lift one by one?? What is going on (cont)
-The Mandalorian -My jumbled up thought process <3 -god tier thumbnail by yours truly ;) Rant continued: -They have a talking hammer implying that they've gotten worked up during meetings and too many people started talking at once and so the Armorer makes them hold the talking hammer when it's their turn (this is a good piece of writing actually btw) -The Armorer just lets Bo take her helmet off? After making Din go through drowning and getting the life beat out of him to get rebaptized? There's something.... fruity here -Paz, Bo, the Armorer, Din, and Ragnar have been the only relevant Mandalorians with actual personalities this season.... I know that the rest are just extras but they shouldn't feel like that, right? They should feel like actual characters and they should have different things about them instead of just standing in the background and following orders mindlessly WELL I have a lot more thoughts but I'm running out of room and I've got stuff to do so this works~ I would highly expect another rant about the last 3 episodes in a couple of weeks unless something totally crazy town banana happens before the finale and I need to make a mini rant about it :D If you made it through this rant, what are your thoughts on this season? I'd love to talk about it with you in the comments :3
