Hi! This is an entry for @MusicCode17's contest. If you want to see this turned into a real book (which I probably will) Just lemme know! Big Apple Magic Chapter One Nervously, I gripped the handle to my suitcase a little bit tighter. Today I started my first day as a vetrenarian in New York City! This was my dream job, let alone live in New York while doing it! My name is Brigetta, but my friends call me Bridget. I've practiced vetrinary skills on my stuffed animals since I was 5. It felt amazing that my dream job was becoming a reality. Suddenly I tripped and fell into a handsome guy who was listening to music. His headphones fell off his head and he glared at me. "Hey what do you th-" He stopped short, taking notice of my light blonde hair and emerald green eyes. "Uh..." he quickly looked away. "Are you okay?" he helped me stand and pointed to the shoelace on my high tops, which was untied. "Oh uh, I guess I should fix that..." I bent down and tied my shoelace. While I was down I picked up his headphones and handed them back to him. He accepted them. "So where you from?" He asked. "Chicago." I replied. "So you're used to the big city?" He asked, intrest peaked. "No, not really," I replied. "I lived in the subarbs for my whole life. Never once actually been to the city." "Wow, I wasn't expecting that. What's your name if you don't mind me asking?" he asked. "Uh, Bridget. If you'll excuse me, I have an Uber to catch." the guy looked at me with loving eyes. "Well luckily for you, I'm your driver." he answered, eyes twinkling. Oh great, I thought, now I'll be stuck with this hot guy, I gasped. What am I thinking? I won't let his hot...adorableness...get to me. To late. "Um, ma'am?" the guy tapped my shoulder. "Shall we get going?" "Oh, uh, yeah sure." I reached for my roller bag. "That won't be nessescary." He grabbed my bag by the handle and effortlessly pulled it to his white sedan. "So where to?" he asked when I got in. "Apartment 61 on West Side." I answered. "By the way, my name is Baz, short for Sebastian." "Um..nice." "What do you do for a living?" he asked as he backed out of the parking lot. "Well I just graduated college with a vetrenary degree." "Neat! Where'd you attend?" he asked. "UW-Madison, it was the closest to my family..." I trailed off looking at the skyscrapers above us. "Wow, that's pretty cool. Which clinic are you going to start working at?" "I'm actually planning on starting my own. I already have the space two blocks from my apartment building. What about you?" "What do you mean?" "I mean what do you do for a living? Where'd you grow up?" "Oh nothing special, just an Uber drive. I take dog-walking orders sometimes. Just little odd-jobs you could say." "Oh cool." "I grew up in L.A, so I'm pretty accostomed to the big city life I mean." "Yeah of course. Where did you go to school?" "I was a high-school drop-out." He hesitated before saying. He pulled up in front of apartment complex. "Well, here we are." "Thank you..." we gazed at each other's eyes for a short moment before breaking away. "Can I have your phone number? Just in case you need anything." he asked. "Of course..." I rattled my number off, and got out. "Bye Baz..." "Bye Bridget..." I closed the door after retriveing my bags, and then watched the white sedan drive off. feeling more in love then I ever had.
