The ocean repelled from the rain, dancing together in ripples. Anchor sat at the dock overlooking the beach, more silent than usual. He hated the storm, but it was peaceful in the moment. Anchor looked back at the beach, where he had found his first friend, milo. The only one who accepted him and introduced him to others, he was very shy at this time and was grateful for the warm welcome. Anchor was left at the beach at the young age, and that’s where he had met milo. As anchor recalled his first day at the beach he remembered Milo’s unwavering warmth and kindness It had only been a few days anchor and milo were inseparable. Opposites attract, milo hated the ocean, anchor adored it. Everything was fine, until a horrid storm struck, the lighting fierce as ever and the roar of the thunder like an earthquake. While the storm was happening, anchor was out in the ocean, he had dozed off and drifted far from shore. Anchor wasn’t the best swimmer, and during the storm the waves were icy cold and strong. Milo saw anchor being dragged down by the waves, then in a split second jumped into the ocean and swam as fast as he could to anchor. Carrying almost twice of his body weight to shore, milo had also swallowed a large amount of sea water. Gasping and choking, milo atleast knew anchor was ok. Out of exhaustion, milo trudged to a dry place under the docks and slept. With milo swallowing a large amount of water, it had gotten into his lungs. Milo never woke from his slumber, he suffocated in their sleep as his lungs malfunctioned with the amount of water in his lungs. Anchor had lost his best friend that day He had wondered what would’ve happened if milo never saved him He would have traded anything for milo to be back, even his own life He wished milo would’ve never risked his life. Anchor would never forgive himself, and swore to himself to never disappoint milo.
