Hello all! Welcome to the Leader Applications for the May 2023 (and also first!) session of Camp Galatians! ✞ Information ✞ If you would like to be a leader, then you are in the right place! If you would prefer to not be on the leadership side and join as a camper instead, you can ask to be pinged in the comments when camper signups come out! One of the (co)hosts/(co)leaders will then notify you! ✞ Credits ✞ - SWC and other camps for the inspiration - @-KenzieCamps- for hosting this session - @Piper_Camps and @mintichip009 for co-hosting this session - Slides: Me (@Piper_Camps) on Canva - Song: Uncool by Leanna Crawford - @-KenzieCamps- for hosting this session and @Minitchip009 and @Piper_Camps for co-hosting this session - All of you for being interested in leading this session! <3 - FAQ heavily inspired by SWC ✞ FAQ ✞ 1. What is Camp Galatians? Camp Galatians is a new Christian Scratch camp focused on helping scratchers grow in their relationship with God and grow in their faith! When you sign up, you set a minute goal for yourself and throughout the month you work towards meeting that minute goal by going to church, bible study, youth group, volunteering at church, praying, reading your Bible, etc. There are daily and weekly challenges that are designed to help you grow closer to God throughout the month! 2. What responsibilities does a (co)leader have? - Maintaining a healthy balance between Camp Galatians and real life and encouraging the same for campers - Answering questions and concerns regarding Camp Galatians IF they are confident in their answer - Taking any and all questions and concerns (theirs or others' if they are not confident in the answer) regarding Camp Galatians to the hosts - Updating minute counts in a timely manner and ensuring that all on-scratch records are up-to-date - Overseeing the cabin and acting as a supervisor - Contributing to cabin planning and development 3. When is my (co)leader application due? 11:59pm UTC on March 21st 4. When will leaders be chosen After leader apps close, Kenzie, Minti and I will be discussing leader choices and we will comment on this project once a decision has been made. co-leaders will be chosen by the leaders, not by the hosts, before April 1st. 5. How do (co)leaders work? Each cabin (see below for a list!) needs one or two co-leaders, with three in some cases where a leader would prefer a bigger team. More information will be shared with selected leaders. If you're only interested in applying for co, please mention that in your app. Applications not chosen to be leaders will automatically be open to getting chosen as co! *You are not allowed to advertise your application to the chosen leaders!* If you aren't selected as a co-leader, we would advise that you keep your app up even after the deadline has passed - sometimes situations will call for leaders to need to choose another co, so you could be that person! 6. What is the difference between leaders and co-leaders In short, leaders have more responsibility that co-leaders. They are 'in charge' of the cabin, which could potentially mean making more decisions, especially regarding theming and early development of the cabin. The leader assumes the role of the delegator in that they have the ability to delegate any tasks regarding the cabin to both their co-leaders and themselves. They ensure equity in terms of tasks within their own cabin. 7. What are the cabin names? There are 5 cabins: Joy, Peace, Kindness, Faithfulness and Generosity (Note that the Cabin Name means nothing about the focus of your cabin, it is simply a name that will guide your storyline and theme of the cabin) 8. When are camper apps out? Camper apps will be out on April 1st, 2023 at 12am UTC on 's Profile 9. What's the purpose of question 9 (about cabin atmosphere)? In addition to being judged as a regular application question, the cabin atmosphere blurb is meant to give future campers an idea of what each cabin will be like beyond themes! This will allow campers to be able to sign up for an experience tailored closer to their personal objectives in Camp Galatians, and help leaders to choose co-leaders with similar goals. Cabin co(leaders) will have until a certain date to collaboratively write their official blurb, which will then be included in the camper signups project for all campers to see. If a blurb is not submitted in time, the one written by the cabin leader in their application will be inputted instead. We hope to have cabins with a variety of different atmospheres! (answer and question from swc march leader apps) By applying to be leader, you agree that in the event that you have to go inactive, you let the hosts know, transfer studio ownership and take any other necessary actions. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask them in the comments below <3
