For whatever reason, he always focused on Sophia when he was talking about the latter. Later, when school was over, Sophia was walking home from school, not even close to being there, when she noticed that somebody was following her. Nervous, she turned into an alley. But halfway down, she realized that that had been a huge mistake, since it was a dead-end alleyway. Sophia took in a deep breath, also gave herself a puff from her inhaler, and then started to climb up onto a dumpster, reaching up for a fire escape ladder just above her. Just as she managed to grab the edge, something grabbed her foot, trying to yank her down. Sophia screamed, realizing that the person who had been following her was below her, holding her ankle. He was wearing all black, his hood covering his face. He tried pulling harder, and Sophia gripped the ladder tightly, screaming. "HELP!" She struggled desperately against his grasp, finally managing to kick his face and loosen his grip. She started climbing up the ladder, hearing the man climb up onto the dumpster and start climbing after her. Sophia reached the roof first and kicked the ladder, realizing that its screws were rusty. She kicked it some more, hearing one of the screws finally pop loose, followed by more pops. Then half of the ladder broke, and the man fell downwards, shouting. Gasping for breath, Sophia pulled back from the edge of the roof, looking over and noticing another building close by. Surely she could jump it. Sophia took a few more puffs of her medicine and stepped back to get a running start, charging ahead and taking a leap of faith. She landed on the other side of the roof, somehow landing on her feet. She gasped, feeling adrenaline pumping through her. That. Had. Been. AMAZING! Sophia couldn't help but let out a giggle, feeling exhilirated. Then she heard the man shouting and felt all the blood drain out of her face. She shook her head, turning and running away, hoping to get home fast enough before he could catch her. ˜”*°•.˜”*°• End of Chapter •°*”˜.•°*”˜
