DEATH LAKE: while still in relatively green territory, death lake continues to hold the record for most deaths. in winter, when the water freezes over, diseased cats flock to the new thing and then, when the ice melts, they sink into the lake. any wanderers are sure to mistake this hazardous site as a drinking hole in safe territory, and will be pulled in and eaten by the ravenous monsters inside. RIVER STYX: the river styx, inspired by an ancient cat who came long ago and told them of greek mythology, is a river that is a safe haven for lost cats, outcasts, or wanderers. the rushing water prevents blood from contaminating it, as well as driving the diseased away with the noise. it isnt exactly normal for a river to run so fast, but that is part of its amazing properties. it was named for its miraculous ability to provide safe water for cats to drink when they are in unsafe lands, as well as for them to live by for a short period of time. ISLA DE MUERTE: isla de muerte is an island in the middle of a large body of water. in the winter when it gets fairly cold, an ice bridge forms and allows for cats to cross. the entire civilisation living there was devastated by diseased cats crossing over, and with nowhere to run, they left no trace aside from the name of the place-- "death island". the lake around it has no name, although cats who migrated into squallclan from the island like to call it "lago de muerte," or death lake, but this name was not picked up by many cats in squallclan. CAMP: squallclan camp is covered in brambles, creating a dome over the top. the camp is in a ditch, lower than the rest of the land around it. the nursery is located in a small tunnel dug into the side of the ditch, and the warriors' den is beside it. this is because if anything were to happen suddenly, strong warriors could guard the nursery at all times. the leader's den sits inside of an old hollowed-out tree stump. the elders' den NORMAL CLIMATE: spring: the weather is neutral, although perhaps a little cold near the beginning and it warms up near the middle. it is exceptionally wet during this time of year. summer: the weather is warm throughout, and it tends to get more rainy near the middle. fall: the weather begins to get chilly near the middle. being a temperate forest, during this time, leaves fall from trees and onto the ground below. this is not good for getting around near diseased cats. you must tread lightly here. winter: the weather gets bitterly cold with constant snow flurries and sometimes even blizzards. seeing and even living is hard. there are often more sacrifices during this time.
