Before I go into why I drew this of all things- many of you know my opinion on the series and JKR and her views at that is why I wish to say something beforehand. Please read below, thank you. I myself being trans, do NOT condone or agree at all with the authors views towards fellow trans peeps or my community. Trans people exist, trans people have ALWAYS existed. Trans People are not a phase or joke to be made fun of. My trans brothers and sisters deserve to be loved and appreciated. Just like any cisgender person on the planet, we are human beings too. We deserve to be who we are!! Thank you. As for the artwork, I have never seen or read Harry Potter before nor do I plan on doing so, so please don’t ask me if I’ve read/watched it or plan to. I was commissioned to draw Hedwig and Harry together by a client about 2 years ago and I only recently found this photo of the sketch in the Cloud. I made sure the client didn’t support JK Rowling beforehand, as there was no way I’d draw something for a person who shared the views that I was any less than human because of being me. I wanted to share this project not only to share some new artwork on scratch, but more importantly as a message to my fellow trans peeps and to send a message to those who support JKR and her disgusting views.
