DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO SPREAD BAD RUMORS OR OFFEND ANYONE. Song: Implicit Demand for Proof. So there is a big problem on scratch and it is that animators are constantly getting attacked by the community and ST. Why? Well I don't know but I would guess it is younger kids who get mad at them because they are not as good. People need to expect that some other people are better at certain things. Another thing is the ST. I have noticed that if a lot of people mass report it gets taken down without them even taking a look. Example: @IncognitoOrange's Whopper meme. It was taken down because it said "heck" sounds like a terrible excuse right? Thats because it was easy, now there were animations like "basically scratch" which was a little bit rude but if you read the notes and credits it says it is a joke and is not meant to be takes seriously. People have been asking is why is it the half famous people on scratch? Half famous being 1000+. It's because they are not big enough that the scratch team would find them a major loss. The reason small animators are not getting attacked (999-) is because they are not very noticed so people can not do mass reporting raids. Another question is why is it that people who make games projects are not being taken down. Well that is probably because the community finds people who make games more important then those who make animations which is BS. Another thing is that people (mostly 10 and younger) need to be able to take a loss. @theCharpy's "blazing cup" was taken down because it was too competitive and had too big a prize, which is another load of BS. One last thing I would like to address is that if quality projects are being taken down for no reason then big scratchers are going to be leaving scratch. Not only the big scratchers but smaller ones to who are upset at how toxic the community is. Even DeviantArt which is an adult website is less toxic than scratch, which is a kids website! (do not go to DeviantArt without consent from your parents) I hope this clears some things up for those who do not understand the situation that is at hand. I feel like scratch has turned into a slightly more kid friendly versions of Twitter/Redit/InstaGram/ esc.. UPDATE/1/ The ST is not the problem here it is the community UPDATE/2/ Grammar :P UPDATE/3/ all the top scratchers (150+ on the whole tier list) will not get banned. it would cause spam raids and riots. UPDATE/4/ The scratch team only check about 2/3 of the reports because they have a lot to do. the other 1/3 moderated by bots/enough reports. UPDATE/5/ ST should do a better job at deciding if th report is valid. UPDATE/6/ added background. background from google. need a better one. suggestions? UPDATE/7/ advertising is only aloud if it is for a cause like this. here is one I got and I want thins kind of thing UPDATE/8/ If people are gona be asking for f4f on this project I have lost hope for scratch. UPDATE/9/ Turns out if a project gets reported enough it gets auto taken down. ST is not at fault here. UPDATE/10/ Mass reporters are not normally an issue, actually they are normally really good when there is an inappropriate project but false mass reporters are the problem. UPDATE/11/ The original project got taken down because apparently it had bad music. (the song was completely clean) this is just another strike from the mass reporters. UPDATE/12/ you do not have to be famous to have fun on scratch. when I said "smaller" scratchers I meant people with less popularity but that does not mean you can't have fun on scratch. I mean look at me! I am not famous at all but I have a lot of fun on scratch.
It's obvious, and the senior Scratchers say it all the time. The generic platforms & animations are getting popular, while original projects generally get copied, or spam reported. People don't realize it, but they are taking over Scratch with these projects because they can't handle variation. Also, advertising is out of hand. People can't accept the idea of not feeding off other's fame, so they use ads. Ads should only be done in places that are specifically allowed and open to advertising. There are plenty of studios for this. The constant excuse from advertisers is: "WELL, the project didn't specifically SAY no ADVERTISING". Advertising is ruining Scratch, and is the root of our problems with a messed up fame system. Think about it: most advertisers are making generic stuff. Root out advertisers, root out generic takeover. -BlobfishGlop True but I don't like being called basically "Not famous" because nobody is really famous Scratch isn't about being most famous it is about learning to code and have fun not be the most popular. -LittleDaVinci I’ve been on for 7 months now, and I‘ve seen scratchers get banned for a simple vent. I hop that scratch will take a turn for the better, but I‘m not counting on it, as it‘s hard to reform kids who are bitter because somebody else won a silly competition. I stand with you. -Cocoa thank you for the information. now i know more problems with scratch. besides that there are innapropriate projects that have been here for years without being taken down. -JG12TolerIsCool "Remember scratch in the older times? Full of kind caring people? Where no generic or project copies existed? That was beautiful until now. Spread this project far and wide Tell me your experiences with scratch in comments" -@cs0110110
