After she was born, Callie's father left her mother, and when she was only 2 years old, her mother died of a horrible sickness. Too young to even recall these events, she was legally placed in the care of her mother's sister, Tansy, who gladly took in the little kitten. Callie was happy with living with her aunt, who she simply called Tansy. As a young cat, Callie was outgoing and wanted the approval and friendship of everyone around her, which made her popular among her peers. However, she became a little more withdrawn after being mistreated by a group of cats who had seemed to be friendly. That started to change when she met Calypso on a beach visit.
