Hi! Sorry this took forever, but I'm gonna create a schedule for this and continue from now on! Enjoy this *dramatic* start :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I awake to the sound of bells. Time to get up. As fast as I can, I pull on a dress and hang my small leather bag over my shoulder. That bag contains my few belongings. I walk over to my dresser drawer to grab my hairbrush, then use it to remove all the tangles from my brown hair. My horns tend to make brushing tricky. A note awaits me on the ground near my bedroom door: You have been placed in group four. Blah blah blah informational stuff. Go to training course. Right. training. .................................... I'm glad to see 441 and 50 in my group. I can also see a snail hybrid talking to 50 over by the entrance to a small room. She looks a few years older than us, even though her lack of legs makes her short. The girl has dirty blonde hair and strikingly mahogany brown eyes. She also has lovely looking tan skin, with just a few freckles on her rosy button nose. She seems quite friendly, and I’m excited to meet her! "Hi," 441 says. "He-" I'm about to reply when a microphone squeaks. An adult woman stands on a platform. She wears proper-looking clothing, has dark skin and darker hair, which is silky and falls over her shoulders. "Good morning students. I am Luna. Think of me... as your leader. The groups you are with today will be your group every day. You will do most things together, unless paired with another group," She pauses, "Please begin your training. My staff and I will assist you" Luna walks up to us first. She has this look that makes me feel cold. Like whatever we're here for isn't good. A shiver runs up my spine that makes me want to freeze in place. I shake the feeling away. She seems nice. This place may be a bit creepy. And even creepier is the fact we know so much yet remember nothing. However, this is just a thought. Surely, we’re here for good. "Hello, 441, 50, 360, 165," She looks at each of us as she says our names. 441 at once asks a question, "What is our group doing?" "You see the obstacle course?" We all nod. "Your group is going to practice some agility!" 360 --my hopefully new friend-- cuts in "Uh, what about me?" "Ah, yes, that’s where your powers come in," She smiles, "With your abilities, much is possible. 441 can fly with his wings, 50 has incredible intelligence and amazing speed with the help of her cow legs, 360 can shapeshift, and 165 --much like 360—can change forms. Just with only one other form, and that form being much more powerful." A chilling smile forms on her face. Blocks and ramps are everywhere. They all have a matching navy hue. I can just barely see the back wall. There seem to be some buttons, and another thing. I can’t quite tell. 441 looks at me with a questioning look, ‘what’s going on?’ I look back at him, ‘No idea!’ A voice makes me jump. It’s a computer, “Level one: Reach the black wall, press one button, and continue back to the start. Each group member must complete the obstacle course.” A loud sound signals the beginning of our challenge. “That’s it?” 50 says in disbelief, “Nothing else? Just reach the end and come back, done. That’s easy!” “For now,” Luna replies. A loud ring sounds, giving me a feeling of stress. What if something goes wrong? The challenge has begun. I quickly leap forward, just barely dodging a large block coming from the roof. A sigh of relief escapes my lungs. My feet continue to move toward the back wall. Instinct floods my brain. In the corner of my eye, I see 360 morph into a new form, before I see nothing. My senses leave my body just after a scream rings in the air, and I feel as though I no longer inhabit my body. (please continue reading in the notes ^^ I ran out of space)
(Thanks. I might have to change how I write these chapters, huh?) Just as that happens, these feelings flood away. I’m back, yet something feels different. Not just all these sets of eyes staring at me, but I feel different. My body feels stronger, and larger, and strangely I feel less like myself. I spot 360 on the ground wincing. There’s a bruise on one of the legs she created for herself. Did I do that? “165, look at yourself. Just... don’t be too scared,” 50 says softly. I turn to the glass, and I don’t see myself. A yelp tries to leave my body, though I hold it in. A monstrous being has taken the place of my reflection. Shiny green scales cover my body. I notice my tail and horns have grown and become sharper. My eyes have become pure black, the irises vanished. Is this what Luna was talking about? Do I have the ability to become this being? Some people would find this an exciting idea, but all I feel is scared. I wonder if I’ll ever be able to control this. I sure hope I can control it. I hate the idea of hurting my friends. A big grin forms on Luna’s face. She walks over, the heels of her shoes clicking on the hard floor. Click, click, click, click. The young woman helps 360 up, “Well, get on with your training. Having a monster on your team is an advantage to this. She’s strong and capable.” The word “monster” echoes in my head. This scares me. It’s our first official day here and I’m already petrified. Luna called me a monster. Is that what I am? I guess from this moment on that’s how people will see me. Next, Luna walks over to me. She places a hand on my shoulder, “I’m sorry, I should’ve expected this. Your powers may act up when you get over stimulated. It’s a protective reflex, I think. Now, finish your practice. I will teach you how to change back later.” I take a deep breath. I turn my head. I don’t want to look back at my group. They’re scared, like everyone else. Like me. I really want to apologize to 360, but I think I’ve made my first impression, so I stay silent as we resume our challenge. Why would someone gather so many young people with these abilities? What good can my powers do? Why would a hero need a vicious monster? I don’t like Luna. She’s up to no good. I can tell. The gloominess of this building, how she speaks, and the classes we take. I don’t like this. I truly don’t. I must find a way out of this building. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, Considering this chapter was multiple paragraphs too long, I'm considering sharing these chapters in parts lol.
