Welcome to this DTA for a brand-new custom species, Floravae! A Floravis is a raptor-esque species designed after carnivorous plants that Raven and Puffball created together, and were inspired by Puff's pet venus flytrap plant, Vinnie! Here, you get the chance to adopt one of them! ~RULES~ --Please read ALL rules before entering! --To win the character, you must draw them. Remix this project with your entry or we won't find it! --No tracing, copying, heavily referencing, bases, AI generated art, gacha, etc. It must be your own art. --Please ask before entering, and make sure to include the code word in your comment. --You can enter for multiple designs to increase your chances of winning, but you can only win one. --You have a bigger chance of winning if you make an animation, interactive project, game, and/or write bio or backstory. --The deadline is April 5th! Get your entries done by then or they won't be counted. Results will be released soon after. --Please stick to the designs. You can tweak the designs, but make sure they are recognizable. --No guilt tripping, no "I would join but I'm bad at art" or anything like that. --Your character can NOT be a Division leader, since Raven and Puff already made characters for all of the leaders. --The code word is "AAAAA." It will be changed every day to prevent cheating (copying the code word from other comments) ~SPECIES INFORMATION~ --Four main packs or “divisions” each based on different plants: --Venus flytrap Floravae --Sundew Floravae --Cobra Lily Floravae (AKA pitcher plants) --Butterwort Floravae --All Floravae live in their respective Division unless they are in exile. Divisions of Floravae are kind of like a pack of wolves, a pride of lions, a herd of cows, etc. --Floravae with scientific names of their Division plant are the leaders of their Divisions --Different Divisions have different special qualities. --The Venus Flytraps have strong jaws and are good at sensing even the slightest movements around or on them --The Sundews have tendrils with sticky orbs at the ends growing from their chins and claws, which they use to trap prey --The Cobra Lilies / Pitcher Plants can puff up their feathers to make them look bigger --The Butterworts can secrete a venomous slime from the undersides of their claws --They always have dark colored wings. They don’t have to be black, but they have to be dark. --The leaders are immortal, but can be killed. To become immortal, they participate in a special ritual. One of the side effects of this ritual is that their eyes turn gray, often described as looking like clouds in a storm --If a leader is killed (which barely ever happens) they are replaced by the Division member who shows the greatest display of the Division’s virtues, and they are given the name of their predecessor --The Division virtues: --Venus Flytraps: Agility, Authority, and Honesty --Sundews: Wit, Honor, and Strength --Pitcher Plants: Safety, Stealth, and Standing Your Ground --Butterwort: Generosity, Benevolence, and Hospitality --Only Venus Flytrap Floravae can have the beak marking seen on design #3 --Floravae keep their eggs all together, and no one knows which egg came from which parent. Floravets (the word for young Floravae) are raised by the whole division until they reach six years old, when they choose who they live with for the rest of their lives. --Floravae almost always have symmetrical markings. --Floravae are an all-female species, but they can choose a gender identity different from female. (In other words, they’re all AFAB, but there are trans males and nonbinaries and stuff.) --Floravae reproduce asexually, and they only need one parent to lay an egg.
