ꕥ˗ˏˋ-------------------------------------------------------------´ˎ˗ꕥ ⤻ ahoy matey! ⤻ happy earth day everyone whoooo! In celebration I decided to turn the planets into people (including The Moon and Pluto, it was a planet at one point) ⤻ I also decided to base some of the planets designs on their roman god counter parts :] ⤻ First is The Moon! I decided to give her a sort of kinda-60's style witch aesthetic and I have no idea if that even came through. I added a water pattern on the bottom of her dress to give a nod to the moon controlling the tides. ⤻ Next up we have Mercury! I decided to make him a messenger as a nod to the roman god, and also to give him little dollar-bill fringes as a nod to mercury also being a god of commerce. ⤻ Venus is up next, and she has a love theme as a nod to the roman god of the same name. She also has a vaguely-60's aesthetic, just because I felt like it'd look cool :shades: ⤻ Mother Earth! I gave her 'golden' hair as a reference to the Goldilocks zone, and split her dress in half with green and blue to look vaguely like the earth's surface. ⤻ I definitely don't have a bias for this planet wHat nOoo- but never mind that, I gave Mars a kinda desert-cloak and little alien antennae because Mars is just so popular in sci-fi, and a sword because Mars is god of war in mythology, and the god of plague. ⤻ Jupiter has a sort of regal look to him because the god Jupiter is the roman equivalent of Zeus from what I read? I gave him bulky clothing and a skinny frame because Jupiter is a gas giant. He also has a birthmark on his eye because of the great red spot. ⤻ Saturn's next, and I feel like he'd be a clumsy sort of character because of that visual gag where characters have spinning rings around their head if they are dizzy- and I gave him some pocket watches and some wheat because Saturn is god of Agriculture and Time. Also he has lots of rings lol ⤻ okay so I made Uranus into an old boomer because he's a sky god and the first thing that came to mind was... "beard". I do not exactly remember my thought process but I like him because he's goofy ⤻ Next up, Neptune! I gave her a shy sort of personality because Neptune is not visible to the naked eye from earth. I gave her a clear jacket because Neptune doesn't have a solid surface-? also a little trident hair clip and mermaid-tail-esque pants as a nod to the roman god. ⤻ Finally Pluto! I made him this really short bratty kid with a crown because Pluto was ruler of the underworld in mythology but it's a dwarf planet so now Pluto is just this kid who wants to rule the world with a fire cape and a couple of belts to represent the Kuiper Belt ⤻ bye matey ┬┴┤( ͡⚆ل͜├┬┴┬ [ Extra Note - this was inspired by lavendertowne's video a couple years ago on the same topic, but I wanted to give it a go myself. I happened to do something similar a while ago (like right after the videos came out on her yt channel) and so I wanted to re-do it for that reason as well. Sorry if any information is inaccurate!
