And a heavy dose of melodrama. He’s always hated their mundane life, even if, by most standards, it isn’t so — because Ellington Hare is a murderer, grave robber, and petty thief. They don’t particularly enjoy their job, but he has no other choice, and he’s learned to put a dampener on morality. At the very least, it’s a break in the monotony. Ellington is incredibly sarcastic, with a dry and dark sense of humour, though is very easily moved by a kind word. He’s quite the artist and musician as well. ~ Bᴀᴄᴋsᴛᴏʀʏ: Born to a family comprised of an accountant mother and an absentee father, Ellington was always a dreamer. An imaginative child with a passion for biology and chemistry, for the first few years of his life, he lived a rather boring existence — picking up odd jobs to make money for his family, dreaming the hours away when he could — until he began to apprentice under his uncle; a mortician. As they were brought into the world their uncle inhabited, they realized something very quickly. Bodies, donated to science, could make a lot of cash. Especially when they were fresh. Though it started out with grave robbery, Ellington learned that would never be enough. His father had left him with enormous debt. Along the way, El picked up a business partner, and, perhaps, a friend: a boy his age named Elio Burke, on whom they soon developed a crush. Thus goes the story of how Ellington Hare, the most romantic boy in town, found himself a life of crime.
