Hey guys! It’s me! But today I have something to talk abt! Recently I’ve been feeling a connection to foxes, and had the desperate feeling to just be one, carelessly running through a forest. I recently heard of therians, people who believe they deep down are animals. I did a therian meditation and sure enough, i visualized a distant white fox. I even somewhat felt a fox tail behind me. Last year I was a fox for Halloween and let me tell you it felt AMAZING. I don’t think I’m a fox or bird therian, because I felt more of a connection with birds, but I distantly feel like both. I felt like I could just run. Be free. And now writing this I finally am figuring out who I am! But that’s not all. Starting in about 4th grade, i kept daydreaming about flying, or wanting to desperately have wings or the sudden ability to fly. I dreamed of having something along the lines of the quirks from My Hero Academia happing to me. I also grew up LOVING the movie, Rio. I had also always loved the floating feeling I got when I flew in an airplane, and wanted to be a pilot for a short period of time. And I could almost imagine myself soaring above the clouds. Also this next part requires a lot of explanation so bear with me for a sec: So ever since I was little I’ve had this tic thing where I would imagine something and like, shake or make abrupt loud noises. I’ve never figured out what it was or gotten tested for it, and my parents have asked me what I wanted to do about it. I always answered “I don’t know.” But one thing that triggered these tics was (get this) bouncing off the walls. Literally. Like I would imagine myself in a large warehouse and I would push off of the wall so hard I would hit the other side, and push off again. But I didn’t bend my limbs, I just stayed still with my arms and legs outstretched and bounced. I loved the feeling of soaring through the air. Like I was meant to do so. I always wanted to be a bird or at least just an animal. When I imagined myself as a bird I always felt large strong wings and a high dominance, such as an eagle or maybe a peacock. Does anyone have any tips on how to find my bird theriotype? ^^ Below are some questions and some answers! ^^
Q: Ew! Isn’t that just a furry? A: This is where a lot of confusion between the two get mixed up. Being a furry is a fandom. A character you kind of, portray yourself as. Being a therian is a spiritual belief, that you are an animal trapped in a human’s body, were an animal in a past life then got reborn as a human, etc. You can even get species dysphoria, the feeling that you aren’t supposed to be human and should be an animal. Q: What’s quadropedics? Do I have to be a therian to learn how to do it? A: Quadropedics is the act of moving around on all fours, to give therians the experience of a quadpedal annimal, and the feeling that they are one. There are two types of people: “I respect people who can do quads and not complain abt wrist pain” etc. and “that’s so weird why would anyone want to be an animal? Our generation is moving backward! Ew!” Don’t call it weird before you try it. If you can’t do it properly and struggle, you can see how much effort and work is put into it. You might even realize where therians find their freedom on all fours. Many think it’s “rabid” or people being “mentally ill” for thinking they’re an animal. It’s much like trans people. They might be a boy, but they might think like a girl, or vice versa. I had a choice to post this. I could either be hateful about people having fun and being who they truly are, or embrace it. I could be bullying people like furries for no good reason. I decided against that. Besides, quads are really fun, but kinda difficult to learn. And no, you don’t have to be a therian to learn it! You just have to be prepared for lots of wrist pain and being agile. ^^ Q: Can I be a therian? I think being a _____ therian would be super cool! A: I know it might sound like something you can just do, and while you can pretend, for most therians it just comes to them. Many therians (but not all) believe that they are and should be an animal. I actually kinda always felt like an animal distantly, but once I was introduced to the term of therian I finally resonated with the label. If you really want to be one, I would recommend to pick your favorite animal, and learn a lot about it. Learn what they eat and how they behave. Learn quadropedics, and imagine you are that animal. Make a mask and buy or sew a tail. While you may not exactly be a therian, you can still pretend you are one! Just don’t go telling everyone you are a therian, and if someone asks, just say you’re doing it for fun and aren’t actually a therian! Most therians will understand! ^^ I hope you all understand! I was actually scared to post this because of all the hate furries have been getting recently, and despite therians being completely different, people still think they’re the same. So just so sum it all up, I believe I am meant to be either a fox or some sort of bird and am not a furry.
