Wce ★ I have no name for this - - - I look back to see if anyone is following me. Ever since I left my aunt’s house, which was a few hours ago, people have been searching for me. But I’m actually not surprised. Word travels fast in this village. But not every part of the village is looking for me, no. There’s this part of the village where nobody knows who I am. I go there in the weekends and hang out with some of the kids there. I start to slow down and breathe. I go slower and slower until I’m walking. I’m actually sort of rushing down the hill. It’s slanted. Speaking of hills, there’s tons of hills in these parts. There are also grassy plains and gardens filled with flowers, fruits, and vegetables. I guess you could say it’s a very GREEN place. (Joke definitely intended) - I knock on the door to my friend’s apartment. Sure, we’re like 5 years apart, but we’re practically sisters. When I still lived with my family down here, I went to her house all. The. Time. Her family is friends with my family. She’s a family-friend! The door opens a crack, and a head peeks out. “Who’s there?” I wave. “It’s me, Isabel.” She opens the door widely and smiles. “Oh. hey, girl! What are you doing here, though?” She grabs my hand and drags me in. “Hurry, get in.” I trip on a random rug at the entrance. “Why are you scared of being outside?” I ask. “She hasn’t told you?” She looks at me with her eyes bulging. I know she’s talking about my aunt. I shake my head. “Told me what?” “She’s sending people down here to take our money.” I feel my blood drain from my face. “She’s what?” “Yeah… they come every day. They take our money, jewelry, literally anything valuable.” So that’s why my aunt’s bank account is getting 20k every month. You see, when my aunt was a little girl, she wanted to be the most richest person in the village. And she really goes out of her way to take homeless people’s money. And she doesn’t even need it! She greedy. REALLY greedy. See, this is why I left her. She doesn’t care about anyone but herself. “I’m so sorry.” I say, because the silence is unbearable. I can’t believe the damage my aunt is making to my favorite place in this village.
