‘sour grapes’ is a popular track from le sserafims debut album fearless. the song talks about how love is like sour grapes, and how the girls dont want to fall in love because it may look sweet, but its actually very sour, similar to grapes. but there’s actually a much deeper meaning behind the song. sour grapes is actually based off of one of aesop’s fables called “the fox and the grapes”!! the story sees a bunch of grapes on a tree and tries to reach it, but he cant reach the grapes. he admits defeat and says that the grapes are undesirable. le sserafim is basically the fox that doesn’t want to eat grapes, and the sour grapes they sing about symbolize love. at the end of the song they basically “admit defeat” like the fox does, saying that its not worth the pain and that they dont wanna taste because theyre afraid, love is sour, love is sour grapes. this whole part basically symbolizes how love may look sweet at first but in fact its bitter:( theyre scared that it wont be as sweet as it seems. its so sad tbh music - sour grapes, le sserafim
