Hello, sorry this is a bit late, I'm really busy right now and don't have as much time to make assignments. This lesson is going to go more in depth about your plot. (At this time, please open another tab with your previous assignment) (Please do not answer questions right away. Where you are going to write is at the bottom) To start us off, we are going to look at what your plot genre is. (i.e. mystery, adventure, fantasy) What happens at the beginning of your plot? What happens in the middle of your plot? What happens at the end of your plot? How does your plot impact your main character(s)? What is the main idea of the plot? (i.e. war, romance, betrayal, enemies to friends) Please answer all these questions in a minimum of one paragraph below: (DO NOT DELETE QUESTIONS) The genre of my story is probably mystery, as it has an air of intrigue, and unanswered questions float around. There’s also something ‘off’ about the whole situation. In the beginning of the plot, we are introduced to our protagonists, Snow-Berry, White-Feather and Shimmer-lake. There would probably be a bit of fore-shadowing for the war, and what’s to come. Also in the beginning, their village is destroyed, and the cause is unknown. A mysterious white figure in a mask is seen in the forest nearby, and the three go to investigate. However, the next thing they know, they are tied up, and trapped in a seemingly endless white corridor. In the middle of the plot, they try to escape this eery corridor, and find that they are not alone. Well, sort of. They hear voices calling from places they can’t see, and shadows dance about, taunting them. Voices whisper of betrayal, and the protagonists start to feel uneasy. They can’t trust anything, not even their senses. After a while, it becomes clear that they don’t even trust each other, and each starts to betray the others to protect themselves. Tension is high. In the dramatic finale, they find out that they - and the rest of their village have an ancient magic inside of them, that the white figure, now revealed to be Nullus, wants this power to awaken a dark magic. If unleashed, it will start a war. The white figure’s motives of why seem to be unclear. It is revealed that he has been ‘chipped’ with a strange magical device that controls them. Snow-Berry, White-Feather and Shimmer-Lake manage to trust each other again, at least for now, and escape. However, in the epilogue, we find out that amidst the confusion, Shimmer-Lake has been chipped…… The plot will impact the characters in different ways. For Snow-Berry, she starts off as cheerful, and the peace-keeper. She is just happy to be young, and growing up in a nice place. After the destruction of her village, she is distraught, and clings onto their friendship even more. Now, they are all she has. She is reluctant to investigate the white figure, as she doesn’t want them to get hurt, or anything bad to happen. She also has a bad feeling about the whole thing. After being captured, she is even more downcast, and just struggling to stay sane. A lot has happened, and she’s finding it harder to repress her negative emotions, and worries. In the middle she is desperately trying to cling to their friendship, but in her gut, she doesn’t trust them, no matter how much she wants to. Eventually, she will admit defeat, and give in to the darkness poisoning her brain. However, in the end, when the others all decide to forgive them all, for the time being, she is furious that they could reunite when it benefits them. In fact - she claims - when she needed her friends, they left her. Why should she forgive them? She does join them, but under a stony truce, and it is obvious that she is bubbling with so many different emotions, that contradict each other.
White-Feather is the brave, and sarcastic one in their friend group. He is a bit reckless, and headstrong, with a way of forcing the others to come along with him. When he finds out that his village is gone, he feels the pain hard. His coping mechanism for grief, is danger, and he is the one who suggests they follow the white figure. He is acting recklessly, and when they get captured, even more so. He explores in his own, and is so desperate to escape, as he feels that it’s his fault, that he’s the first to listen to the voices. He starts to accuse the others, and he is struggling to keep his anger in. Eventually, he starts to injure himself in his reckless stunts, convinced that nothing worse can happen. He begins to loathe his companions, and feeds on these feelings of hatred and revenge. When they confront Nullus, his anger and rage bubbles over, like an eruption of defiance. He finally lets out all his anger, and grief, feeling much better, and more in control after. He realises how stupid he was, and is quick to forgive the others, without thinking that they might not so easily hand out apologies. He feels stronger by the end, and more satisfied, though almost oblivious to the others pain. Shimmer-Lake was intelligent, alert, but also relaxed at the beginning. Xe loved xir friends, and was happy to be living a nice life, though thought that there was something missing. Xe didn’t know what, but there was something. After the destruction of the village, Shimmer-Lake was shocked, and dismayed, and guilt nagged at her. Xe had vowed to always protect her adopted family, especially xir younger sister — Lily-pond. However, Shimmer-lake was accustomed to hiding xir feelings, so xe tried to get along the same, afraid that showing xir emotions would get them killed. Shimmer-lake was the most sensible, and practical friend, the voice of reason, and the one who kept them out of trouble. However, xe was finding it really hard to stick to that role with her guilt weighing her down. Xe really did try, but with not much success. When White-feather suggested tracking down the white figure, xe was instantly convinced. Xe was no longer listening to xir brain, and instead was wrapped up in thoughts of revenge, and redemption. After being captured, xe went into a state of despair, and felt like a traitor. Xe started patrolling the hallway, obsessed with finding the white figure. Xe was so caught up in xir obsession, that xir mental state, and sanity began to drop at a fast rate. Xe stopped caring about the others, and became wrapped up in revenge. That was when the voices came. They haunted xir, there were screams—xir family’s screams. Xe saw Lily-pond running, and xe couldn’t catch up. Xe eventually gave up, and stopped even caring about anything else. If xe heard screams from her so called friends, xe’d leave them. All that mattered was the revenge. It was what fuelled xir, kept her alive. All empathy and morals were stripped. On one of these many patrols, not long before the confrontation, Nullus chips Shimmer-lake. Xe goes back to the others, and ‘forgives them.’ Xe suggests confronting Nullus, which the others are excited to accomplish. Xe tries to chip them, but without any luck. Xe decided that Nullus can do it, whilst they’re distracted by confrontation. Xir plans do not succeed, but Nullus lets them all escape, without them knowing that they’re walking into a trap, and Shimmer-lake is part of it. When xe is chipped, xe doesn’t feel emotion, only a desire to complete xir task. Xe looks normal on the outside, but that is only a cover. There are many main ideas, or ‘themes’ to this story. These include, but are not limited to: The beginnings of war, betrayal, friends to enemies, secrets, revenge, how far should we push justice?, spirit, bonds, magic, guilt and trauma.
