・◆♦︎◆・ G'day! Welcome to the very first Camper Sign-ups for Camp Jewel Peak May 2023! We would be thrilled to have you there! Before signing up, however, please read the FAQ <3 ・◆♦︎◆・ FAQ: ・What is CJP? CJP is a triannual writing camp in May, September, and January that focuses on developing your story ideas into a full complete novel. In four weeks, you will come up with a complete, flawed character, a dynamic world for your character to live in, a whole plot outline, and begin writing! Besides working on your story, you also set a word goal for yourself and strive to reach it by the end of camp. Don't worry if you don't have a good story idea, the workshops and bi-dailies will help you improve your existing idea or come up with a new one. Whether you're an experienced writer/storyteller or just beginning to dabble into the art of writing, this camp is for you! ・What is a word goal and what is a good goal you would suggest for beginners? Word goals are the amount of words you'd like to write in the month of May. These can be raised or lowered any time you like. If you are a beginner in writing or just don't have much time to write, we suggest a lower number like 5,000 which is a pretty easy goal to reach during the session. You cannot go any lower than 500 words for a goal. The limit for a word goal is 100,000. ・Whats counts toward a word goal? All school assignments and homework that is writing based Journaling Roleplaying Writing descriptions for projects or studios Songwriting Letters Creative Writing Unfortunately, javascript, notes, dictation and normal comments do not count toward your word goal. CJP runs on an honor system so we trust that you will be truthful about all words you turn in. ・How is this different from SWC? There's plenty of differences. SWC is mainly focused on just writing. They have dailies and weeklies and occasionally bi-dailies, but none of those build on each other like CJP's workshops do. CJP is also a smaller community (5 cabins compared to 15, for example). You'll also notice small differences and quirks as the session goes by, but those are a surprise. ・What are the Cabins and (co)Leaders? Myth - @TheBibliophile7 & @Bxlla_Cxmps Fairytales - @RoseReef & Action - & Supernatural - & Comedy - & You do not have to write in the genre of your cabin, you are free to write whatever you like! ・When do camper signups close? Signups close at 12am UTC April 28th and backups reopen 12am April 29th unless we hit our cap of 100 signups. Camp runs on UTC time and everyone will be sorted on the 28th, you will be notified what cabin you are any time after that before the 1st. ・If you have any other questions, feel free to ask in comments and a host or (co)leader will get back to you soon! <3 ・◆♦︎◆・ Sign-up form: All you have to do to sign up for camp is fill out this short (7 questions) form in comments ^^ Username // What is your timezone (if your comfortable sharing) // Do you have any plans in May that might effect your activity levels? // What is your cabin or leader preference (no worries if you don't have a preference)? // What is your word goal? // What is your WPM (WPM means Words Per Minute.
