If they aren't then you're not going to achieve them very easily and you will get frustrated. But what if they are realistic? What if it's something that you know you can do, but you've been working for months to complete it, but haven't yet? That's the tricky part. ⌑ Story time. I run track (im a distance gal 16 & 8) and track is 90% mental. I was so frustrated that I wasn't making any progress. I wanted to be faster, i wanted to be better. I constantly told myself, "I should be faster,". That negative mindset sure didn't help. Then at a track meet, I let the negative mindset go, focused on doing my best and having fun, and i PR-ed my 52 seconds. That's what a positive mindset can do for you. ﹏ #002 ɪs ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴍɪɴᴅsᴇᴛ ᴘᴏsɪᴛɪᴠᴇ ᴏʀ ɴᴇɢᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ? ⌑ A negative mindset can hold you back and prevent you from achieving your goals. Trust me, I know from experience. ⌑ this is easier said than done. I'm still trying to practice a positive mindset both while I run and throughout my day. It's really important to have a positive mindset. If you're telling yourself, "I can't do this," then you won't. If you're telling yourself, "I can, and I will!" then you will. It's all in your head. Get out of your head, and tell yourself you CAN achieve your goals ﹏ #003 ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴀᴅᴊᴜsᴛ ᴛʜᴇ sᴛᴇᴘs? ⌑ if your goal is to get an A in math, you gotta have steps. Set smaller goals--like completing the homework everyday, and studying before tests. ⌑ if your steps aren't small enough, then you have to adjust your steps. Take it one step at a time, it'll take time. ﹏ ᴀʀᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ʀᴇғʟᴇᴄᴛɪɴɢ ᴏɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴘʀᴏɢʀᴇss? ⌑ even if it doesn't feel like it, you are making progress. When you focus on the fact that you haven't reached your end goal, you're ignoring the fact that you've made so much progress! ⌑ Look at where you started. I highly recommend keeping some sort of log to keep track of all the progress you made. Ex, if you're a runner and are trying to get a certain time, record in your phone your time, then look back at your first time and how much you've improved. It really boosts your confidence :) ﹏ ▹ᶻz ⸝ ᴏᴜᴛʀᴏ tysm for sticking through! That's it for todays proj hope you all have a lovely rest of your day byyeee - viv <3
