He will do anything to protect them; even sacrifice himself. Backstory (part 1): Deep in the woods of a land only known to few in this present time, lived a young kitten and his family. Kip was born in a household where love was most important, and everything was accepted. The foresters had a neighboring country. Mountains. These two kingdoms lived at peace with each other for centuries, until the prince of the forest tried to marry the mountain princess. He was banished from both countries and swore revenge ever since. Most didn’t care at first, so no protection laws were made. *** One snowy night, a dark figure was moving through the top of the mountain castle ridges. He dropped down through a hole in the ceiling and creeped up towards the queen. He drew a long and shiny knife, gleaming in the moonlight, and stabbed it in the victim's neck. Her scream was louder than avalanches. The king woke up almost instantly and took the blade out of the boy's paw. “WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!?” He yelled, tears forming in his eyes. The boy was so skinny he was almost a skeleton. “You took my love, I take yours.” He said. He was the exiled prince, but more old and thin. The king hollered and slashed the woodland prince’s neck. He dragged the corpse all the way to the forest and pinned the body on the castle tree. “War is coming.” He wrote in blood. *** Kip yawned and scrambled out of his little bed. It seemed like an ordinary day, like any other. Soon he would come down and eat his daily waffles and go to school. He patted his stuffie and hurried downstairs. But what was waiting for him was not a nice breakfast. “Hi mommy, hi daddy!” He said, but they looked upset. “Hello, hon.” His mother said. He was confused. “Why are you upset?” Kip said, worried. “You're not going to school today.” His father told him. Kip was always a little terrified of him, he didn’t know why. “Remember the war?” His mother asked. “Oh yeah. Isn’t that just on the outskirts of the kingdom?” Kip said. “Yes, but we might need to take a break from home right now.” Oh. That was kinda confusing, but Kip just nodded. “How long?” He asked. His father glared at him. “Does it matter? Go pack your bags. My brother is taking us in.” Kip jerked back.“Ok,” he said. He took a long time deciding what to pack, but in the end his mother came up and told him to hurry. “We don't want to miss the bus,” she said nervously. “Mommy, where are we going?” He asked. “Over near the city, there are these pods that fly you to the west.” She replied, putting blankets in his bag. Kip knew about those pods, they are only supposed to be used in emergency situations. “Mother, why are we leaving?” His mother fidgeted with her claws. “The war is- moving over to our area. It’s been getting worse, too. I don’t want to scare you, though. We just need to evacuate for now, and thank the stars that we have these transporters.” Mother said. Kip understood and quickly finished. When they got over to the bus station it seemed like the whole town was all clumped up. Kip saw a couple of his friends, but his father told him to stay over here and carefully enter the bus. Kip noticed that his father was getting colder and more demanding. He found himself sweating every time he was near his dad. The button above Kip said they arrived. “Hooray!” Kip yelled as he was running out of the door. His mother screamed his name. “Skipper-!” She said at the top of her lungs. Kip had no idea why she would do that, so he continued to leave the bus. Suddenly, a flame shot into his eyes.
Backstory part 2! (Read part one first!) Kip shrieked and jumped into the open field. He blacked out. Kip felt warm paws wrap around him and drag him away from the fire. He opened one eye. Everything happened at once. There were hundreds of bodies laying on the ground, including some of his friends. He felt tears dripping down his neck. “Momma?” He said faintly. “Oh, Kip. Are you ok?” His mother said, crying slightly. “I don’t know. My left eye is hurting.” Kip managed to say. “We need to get you in a pod,” his mother told him. “We can still save you.” Kip felt himself nod. “You're coming too.” He said. “Only if we make it in time!” His mother exclaimed. They started running and ran into father. “Daddy! Come with us!” Kip said, smiling. He was still hurt, but he couldn’t resist. “No, actually.” He turned slowly towards them, shadows covering his face. “You're not going anywhere.” Kip's mother turned pale. “What-” All of a sudden, a bloody mark swiped on mothers face. “NO!” Kip screamed. His father chuckled. “Why are you doing this!?!” Kip sobbed. “Don’t you know who I am?” He said, and then took his glove off. There was a tattoo indicating royalty. Kip finally saw the stitch mark on his fathers neck, like a knife slit his throat. “Wait. You're the lost prince?” Kip stood there, processing. “Right. Now, where was I?” He scratched Kip's eyes. “OW!” Kip took the sword that was in his fathers sharp claws and killed him with his very own. Kip stared at the blood. What had he done? He didn’t know for sure, but right now, he was a 2 year old with no parents. He needed to find his own way out. *** After years of waiting, hunting, and resting, two lonely cats finally found their way to each other. (I know its long but trust me it really helps to understand the animation! ^^)
