Lucas was sound asleep. The scientists pulled the lever and the operation began. Everything was going well, and the screen said “Loading…” on it, indicating that the dream was being made. That’s when it happened. The machine blew a fuse and the power went out, leaving the area pitch-black. This also caused a loud crackling noise for a short second, which was soon followed by someone crying. Lucas had woken up and was all alone in the dark room. Or so he thought… The scientists dug for the flashlights in their labcoats before finally grabbing them and turning them on. They then pointed their flashlights toward the window that allowed them to see into Lucas’ room, but they jumped at what they saw. They saw a tall black silhouette standing over Lucas, who was curled up in the corner crying out of fear for his life. But then, the monster did something that the scientists couldn’t see since they left the window to enter Lucas’ room to save him. The monster reached towards Lucas and patted his head as if trying to comfort him. Lucas then looked up in surprise. “Y-You’re not gonna hurt me?” he said sheepishly. The creature shook his head and gave Lucas a gentle hug. This, however, was NOT a smart move whatsoever. The two scientists came into the room, each armed with a laser rifle, since this is the year 2084. The scientists had heavily misinterpreted the situation and shouted at the beast at the top of their lungs. “GET AWAY FROM THE KID OR WE SHOOT!!!!!” said one of the scientists. The creature slightly turned his head in their direction, but made no other movements. “GET AWAY NOW!!!” said the other scientist as they both aimed their rifles at the monster. The beast remained still. “That’s it…” the other scientist said as he pulled the trigger on the rifle. A laser zoomed past until it went right through the monster’s chest, making him lift his head and roar an earsplitting sound. The monster then faced down again when he heard Lucas yelp. The creature then saw a large open wound on Lucas’ arm. The laser slid across Lucas’ arm and cut him, and though the injury wasn’t fatal, Lucas was still crying since the cut was painful and also pretty big. The monster, after getting up, had looked at the hole in his chest to see purple goop spilling out. The monster was infuriated. His claws extended and his eyes turned red. The scientists began to sweat before throwing their rifles at the wall. Now, keep in mind, it was still very dark. The lights on those rifles were the only thing letting the beast know where the scientists were. But the scientists threw the rifles away from them, therefore giving them a chance to escape, which is exactly what they did. The beast then turned to Lucas and tried comforting him. The creature ripped off a piece of his fur and used it to wrap up Lucas’ arm. And before you ask, yes, it hurt. The monster resisted screeching out in pain, for he had bigger fish to fry. A few seconds later, the room was suddenly filled with red lights from the emergency alarm, which the scientists had triggered.
All me. :)
