Overgrowth - Personality - unsure, quiet, kind, humble Power - to stiffen to be as hard as stone, but can't move until he unstiffens --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overgrowth's backstory - A little rock full of moss sat still. Or at least it looked like a rock. Really it was a stone that much earlier had been enchanted by a wizard to become a living breathing creature. So really it was a rock w̲o̲l̲f̲ full of moss. The little wolf was awoken by a blueberry hitting him on the head. He quickly snapped it up and looked to see where it had come from. "Got and more up there?" He asked, since blueberrys were his favorite food. But the only thing above him was a branch, and coming off of it was an odd smaller branch, it almost looked like a mini tree. He studied it for a moment, and suddenly two bright orange eyes opened up. The mossy wolf yelped his surprise, and the odd branch fell from the tree, flailing its arms as it plummeted. The wolf outstretched his long mossy tail to catch the poor creature, who he now realized wasn't a branch. He used his power as a magic animal to stiffen as hard as rock so he would feel no impact. Though he hoped his tail was it the right spot because once he was stiffened, he wouldn't be able to move until he unstiffened. Luckily, his tail was in just the right spot. He unstiffened and let the animal go. She just sat there gasping for air. "Thank... You... So... Much..." She said in between gasps. Finally she shook herself out. She seemed to be a cat made of fluffy wood, with her body of pine tree needles. Thats when at the same time they realized they'd been staring at each other with squinted eyes. "Oh sorry!" The rock wolf apologized. The odd cat shook her head, "No no, its fine. I should be sorry, I was doing the same thing. My name's Needle, and yours?" She said holding out her paw. (What an odd place the forest can be sometimes,) The wolf thought. Most creatures just attacked him or tried to have him join their pack, or tried to bribe him into doing evil things. Now maybe that was what this cat was doing, but then again, most evil creatures didn't say sorry or ask you your name. "Overgrowth." The wolf said shaking the cats paw. He could tell she felt scared, being in front of a wolf and all. Stone or no stone. "Oh, also thank you for saving me." Needle said taking her paw out of the paw shake. They both smiled at each other, trying to figure one another out. "You don't seem like you're from around here." Overgrowth blurted, "I mean- I didn't-" "Oh no its fine! I'm not actually. I'm from a neighboring forest. No offense but animals here seem... different." Overgrowth didn't know how to take that, so he just gave a fake laugh, "Oh no! I don't mean you. You're like the animals back home. They're sooo nice! Almost everyone there is my friend! I'm sorry If i was awkward or rude when we met, i'm usually very nice, its just the wolves here are constantly fighting each other and trying to trick me and then laugh about it, they're so rude!" Overgrowth laughed so hard, Needle must have thought he was insane, "Tell me about it! The wolves here are just, SHEESH!" They began to laugh together. Finally while wiping the tears from her eyes, Needle asked, "I don't know how much you like it here or if you have family, but would you like to come home with me?" Overgrowth didn't expect this, "You mean go to your forest, with the nice animals?" Needle nodded, "Of course! I'd love to! Why did you even have to ask!?" Needle smiled and lifted a basket full of blueberrys, "This was mine, but it seems you like them more," And placed it on Overgrowth's mossy head. So together they trotted home, laughing and smiling the entire way. If you want a bit of explanation as to who is Needle, this will sum up her story: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why do I want Overgrowth: I think I'm going to add this section to all my DTAE's, I think its important to say why, anyways... I want overgrowth because I think a really great story could come out of have him as a friend to Needle. Also so Needle actually has a purpose :p
