DTAE for Soda and Alice!

Spam that flag! >:D Gosh it's been a while since I've posted ANYTHING, but here is a DTAE (Draw to adopt entry) for @-cafecat- (( And btw--there's a little cameo in the story I wrote at the bottom, see if you can guess who it is! )) Backstory I guess???? Soda likes: soda comic books hockey ducks (lots of ducks) stars swimming the internet trees Soda DISLIKES: carnivorous plants math vultures bananas Alice likes: cherry blossom trees plants baking farming reading flowers butterflies Alice DISLIKES: scary things horror things angler fish swimming (for now...) Story of the scene: Soda and Alice go out together with the ducks. Alice can get a little nervous when swimming, and she's wondering why Soda is bringing her all the way to the shoreline. "Why are we at the beach?" She asks, "You know I get a little anxious when I have to swim." "Well that's EXACTLY WHY we're here!!!!" Soda exclaimed cheerfully, "We're going to help you get over your fear!" Alice's heart began to rush. This couldn't be happening--all the memories...no--she HAD to make an excuse. "But--but--I don't even like the idea of getting wet! What if I'm not good at swimming enough and I sink to the bottom of the ocean, what if--what if-" Soda took Alice's paw in his and replied, "If I'm able to be friends with you, despite how much you love bananas AND carnivorous plants--you can at least TRY to swim!" Alice blushed of embarrassment. She didn't want to tell Soda no--but she didn't want to have to tell him why she wouldn't swim. "Um...er--I have to go!" She exclaimed. Alice took off and ran all the way to the palm tree, and then turned right to scamper to the beach exit--which was past the tall grass. Soda knew he had to figure out why this was happening to Alice. He knew Alice all too well, why would she even be acting like this? Soda didn't follow Alice to catch her, he decided to run all the way to the tall grass and jump over it! It was the only way to catch Alice before she left completely, and Soda was faster than her. On his way to the grass, he accidentally ran into a cat building a sand castle. The cat had a little green sprout on her head. "Hey--can you watch my ducks real quick thanks!!!!" Soda requested the cat in a rush. "Um--sure, ok?" The cat replied right after Soda ran past her. "Weird." She muttered. Soda then leaped over the tall grass, and found Alice! He pounced on her and she fell over. "Why are you acting like this Alice!?" Soda shouted at Alice a bit, "What's the real reason you don't like swimming? Because I know it doesn't have anything to do with the water." Alice's face was completely shocked. {{I should have known he would be faster than me!}} She thought. {{Well, I guess I DO have to tell him the truth now.}} Alice sighed. "When I was younger...I had three brothers, who loved swimming in the pool. I used to really like it too. But my brothers always teased me about how bad I was at swimming, and one day--" She had to tell him. "--one day, when I was about to jump off of the diving board--they pushed me into the deep end. I was so scared I would sink. I wanted to swim again, but that memory I guess will never fade. So that's why. That's why I don't like swimming, and have been afraid to try again ever since." Soda had tears in his eyes. He felt so bad for his friend, yet was still upset that she took off without question. "Well," Soda looked at Alice and smiled, "How about we get back to the water, and swim. That way one day--you can show your brothers that you CAN swim! And that they have no right to tease you like that ever again!" Alice was moved by what Soda said, "Thank you Soda." She smiled. And the art, depicts the end of our story. Soda tells Alice that they can take baby steps to introduce her to the water again. By running across the shoreline and splashing each other with water. They were finally honest with each other, and that helped them understand each other just a bit more. Fin.
