Press any key to switch between the two. It all started with the Kraft Dinner...and a lack of cheese, too... BACKSTORY: For the first several years of his life, Celsius lived like your everyday dragon. He had an ordinary family, consisting of himself, his twin sister Fahrenheit, his dad Centigrade, and his mom Réaumur. His dad and himself were shades of blue, and his mom and sister were shades of red. Life was perfect for this family. Until Midnight Massacre turned his cruel, heartless eyes on them. Midnight Massacre is an assassin, and nobody knows who he works for. All anyone knows is that he seems to appear at various houses, killing everyone inside... or so dragons suspect. No bodies have ever been found. He has feathered wings, allowing him to fly silently. And if he is assassinating a particularly large group of dragons, he gets his sister Sundown Slaughter to help. THE DAY OF THE DISASTER: "CELSIUS!" It was Fahrenheit, yelling at him. "What's wr-" Before he could finish, his sister charged into the room with a scream of "WE RAN OUT OF CHEESE!!!" "Oh, Fahrenheit..." She absolutely loved cheese. The whole family did, but she brought it to the next level. "THIS IS SERIOUS!! NOW MOM CAN'T MAKE HER FAMOUS HOMEMADE KRAFT DINNER FOR DINNER TONIGHT!" He gasped. "NO KRAFT DINNER!?!?" Celsius dashed into his room, grabbed a clawful of money, and raced to the nearest store, Fahrenheit close behind. 10 minutes later... "I got the cheese! Cheddar, havarti, and mozzarella!" "Thanks!" said Fahrenheit, who had been waiting outside the store. "Now let's go home, we can surprise Mom!" It didn't take them long to realize something was wrong. The door was wide open, even though they had locked it. But the most worrisome thing was the presence of two capital letter M's carved into the mahogany wood. The initials of Midnight Massacre. A screech echoed through the house. "NO!!!" Fahrenheit raced inside, and with a moment's hesitation, Celsius followed. The sight was so ridiculous and unexpected, if it didn't include a corpse, Celsius would've laughed. But there was his mother, violently exhaling hot water at Midnight Massacre's face, while smacking him with a frying pan. And beside her was the blood-stained body of Centigrade, his throat slashed. "DAD!! NO!!!" Fahrenheit screamed. "FAHRENHEIT! CELSIUS! RUN!!!!!" his mother shouted back, for Midnight Massacre had turned towards them, a savage grin on his battle-scarred face. Without a single glance backwards, he shot towards Celsius, pinning him to the cold, hardwood floor. "I wonder... Will you be as delightful to kill as the other icy one?" the assassin hissed. "Only one way to find out..." But before his serrated claws could come down, Celsius exhaled ice-cold water into his eyes, while smothering him with the fluffy fur on the tip of his tail. The weight holding him down had lifted, and he seized the opportunity, swiftly rolling out of the way. Fahrenheit and Réaumur had used that time to sneak up behind Midnight Massacre. When he turned around, they both blasted him in the face with hot water. He screamed at a higher register than they expected, due to the unfortunate accident of him forgetting to close his eyes! But just when things were starting to go their way, Midnight Massacre snarled. "ENOUGH!!" He brutally shoved the two kids out of the way, and lunged at Réaumur. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. The claws of the assassin. The expression on his mother's face. And the loud thud as he slammed into her. "NO!!!" Celsius and Fahrenheit started moving forward, but Midnight Massacre's sharp, spiked tail kept them at bay. He raised his brutal, sharp claws, shot the twins an evil, triumphant grin, and brought them swiftly across Réaumur's neck. ̷S̷L̷I̷C̷E̷!
Lineart: @shiggysimp-- Backstory: me Took me a couple hours to color. Program used: ibisPaint X Device: Chromebook without touchscreen :'( Comment which version you like better, lined or lineless! Constructive criticism is welcome! This is my first time attempting lineless, and I would love your feedback! Also, in case you haven't noticed, the names of Celsius and his family members are all ways of measuring temperature! And instead of breathing fire, two exhale hot water, the other two, ice-cold water.
