Story here: “Bakugo. Kirishima. You’re partners for this training exercise.” I supressed a groan. I’d managed to avoid Bakugo for the past three days. But we were doing training in partners in class today. And of course Aizawa had paired me with Bakugo. I heard Bakugo stand up behind me, then he appeared beside my desk. “We’re partners.” He said, as if I didn’t already know. “Yeah. I heard Aizawa.” I grumbled, not even looking at his dumb face. “Do what you wanna. I don’t care about winning. Not with you.” I heard Bakugo inhale sharply. “Look, I need to talk to you after class, okay?” “Don’t wanna hear it.” “Kirishima.” “I. Don’t. Want. To. Hear. It!” I snapped. “I know exactly what you’re going to try to pull, and I don’t want to hear any of it! Get on with your life! Stop trying to infect mine with your poison presence!” Bakugo noticeably flinched. I wrinkled my nose. I knew he was just going to beg for me to forgive him and all that stuff. He didn’t want my l0v3. He just wanted my friendship. Atonement. But I wasn’t going to give him what he wanted. I didn’t want to deal with him anymore. He said what he wanted to say, and I said what I needed to. Everything was done. “Noted.” Bakugo muttered. “Let’s just get this training over with.” “Yep. Communicate as little as possible, preferably.” I stood up. “We’re against Kaminari and Midoriya.” “Sounds easy.” Bakugo brushed off his pants and followed me. “So, what. We go into this building and we try to practice sneak attacks. Makes sense.” “Mhn.” I walked faster than him, hoping he would get the message- I wanted the least interaction with him as I could possibly get. “We should stick together.” Bakugo added, catching up to me- clearly not getting the message. “A more powerful sneak attack, right?” “Fine.” I grumbled. “Let’s just get in there.” Kaminari and Midoriya were already positioned somewhere in the building- all we had to do was slip in and win a sneak attack. It was easy to get in- a simple strategy called a door. The second we were in, we both went full stealth mode. That was until the entire building shook. It was almost pitch black in there, and I couldn’t tell if Bakugo felt it. “Do you think they’re exploding things down there?” He asked softly. So he had felt the shaking. “How would they?” “Deku’s quirk. Smashing walls or something.” “I don’t think Midoriya's quirk would do that.” I whispered, feeling slightly scared. “What if something bad happened?” “We should check. We should be down there anyway.” Bakugo gripped my shoulder and started gently pushing me down the hall. I ripped away from him, shot him a nasty look, then continued down the hall. As we made our way through the pitch black hallways, my heartbeat got faster and faster. I was actually nervous- what if there really was something bad that happened down there? And theme the voices. “You have those boys? Right. Let’s pick off the other one.” The voice was raspy and cold. “And get Bakugo.” “Shigaraki.” Bakugo breathed, grabbing my hand. “We need to get out of here.” “I don’t know where we are in the building.” I hissed. “And it’s too dark to see!” “Be quiet. Just back up with me. This is dangerous. We need to get Aizawa Sensei.” Bakugo’s grip on my hand tightened. “We could get really hurt.” “What about Kaminari and Midoriya? I’m not leaving them here.” I ripped away. “Either come with me or leave me to d!e. I’m making sure they’re okay.” I hurried towards Shigaraki’s voice- and I heard Bakugo’s footsteps behind me. I grinned, then instantly wiped the smile away. ‘Stop falling for him.’ I mentally chastised myself. “Here we are!” I heard Bakugo yelp, and I whipped around. Dabi, framed by Toga, Twice, Shigaraki, and Compress. Dabi had a firm grip on Bakugo’s shoulder and his wrist, holding him back. “Go!” Bakugo yelled, struggling against them. “Get Aizawa! Get help! And if you-” Dabi let go of his wrist and covered his mouth, muffling his shouting. My eyes flickered with anger. What, he wanted to gain all the glory by fighting them himself? No way. I leapt at Dabi without even thinking, knocking Bakugo out of his grasp. “So we’re fighting?” Bakugo grinned. “I mean, I'drather not die... but you know...” “Bring it on.” I jumped back from Dabi, standing beside Bakugo. “Truce, until we beat them.” I glanced at him. “Sounds good. Now let’s do some winning, huh?” END OF CHAPTER SIX
