WAAAA I'M SORRY FOR POSTING AT 11:25(still technically Friday though--) anyways short chapter but more angst than a scene kid in 2007. tws: angst, implied lego step, mourning, loosing loved ones, anxiety, and omg is that resurrection :0 Xanthe returned to the house in Koniko that she and Clementine had been staying in. Her smile had dropped the moment she parted ways with Jade. She felt as if something horrible had happened, the impending sense of doom weighing down on her as the sky weighed down on Atlas. She walked at a dash, biting her lip. She didn’t know what was wrong but she knew it was something. She rushed into the house that had been shaped to resemble an agaric mushroom, and knew something was off. That sounds like the stuff from a book that she had read while her father was away. But the feeling was growing and growing with every step. Xanthe bit her lip and just tried to focus on getting back to Clementine. She began to run, either from the anxiety or to see Clementine, she couldn't distinguish at this point. Something was off. The temperature of the house was slightly lower than when she had left it, although that was to be expected due to her and Tommy not being there. There was water running upstairs, and everything seemed slightly cleaner than when she had left. Xanthe walked up to the bathroom, and knocked on the door twice, softly. “Clementine?” she called out, only to get no response. She knocked slightly harder this time. “Clem? Answer me.” desperation was starting to leak into her voice. No noise other than the running of water came from the other side of the locked door. “Clementine, I swear to the gods, open this door!” tears began to well in her eyes. “Clem open the goddamn door!” No answer. She began to throw her body at the door, hitting it with her shoulder. One. Clementine had to be okay Two. But what if she wasn’t? Three. Xanthe had tears streaming down her face. Four. She let out a grunt. Five. Xan yelled with frustration. Six. The door finally broke under her weight. The scene was not something someone should ever be forced to bear witness to, much less someone who had just barely become a teenager. Clemetine had her head submerged in the bathtub, the golden locks floating in the water. Xanthe remembered screaming for clementine, running to her, and pulling her out and placing her on the ground. She pushed her belly up and down but she couldn’t cough the water out. Suddenly, a flood came out of her mouth. She was empty. There was nothing, not even one small breath. And they went limp in her arms. At some point Tommy and Tubbo had come back, their mouths were moving but all that Xanthe heard were car alarms. She started to cry. “I will lose my mind, if even one more person I know dies, so please don't die. Stay with me Clem..” Clementine's body started to turn into dandelion fluff, and float away. Wait. That wasn’t right. Xanthe stared at the girl in her arms as she slowly started to disappear. This was only meant to happen when Clementine was respawning…. Clementine was respawning. This was her sixth death. How was Clementine still respawning? Her body was supposed to stop doing that after the 3rd death. How was she coming back? That didn’t matter though. All that mattered was that in a matter of minutes, Clementine would be back. Xanthe realized this, handed the remainder of the girl to her father, who seemed just as confused. She ran as fast as she could to the room that Clementine had been staying in. She went and kneeled by the bedside. Suddenly a figure shrouded in light faintly resembling Clementine had appeared in the bed. Xanthe sobbed in relief as the blinding figure had appeared. Clementine was coming back. Tommy ran over and joined her, Tubbo following soon after. After about five minutes the body was fully formed and Clementine woke up. She saw Xanthe, and tears formed in her eyes. “I-I why am I here? I’m supposed to be gone.” She sobbed. Biting her lip, Xanthe set herself up onto the bed, and hugged Clementine. “Clem, I-I know that you’re tired. Just please. Promise me that you won't try again. Please.” Xanthe begged, caution in her voice, choosing every word carefully. Clementine only squeezed back in response.
