It wasn't always like this. /He/ wasn't always like this. Sprite looked around desperately. His sister was nowhere to be found. "DEW!" He screamed. No response. The sound of his sister's name echoed off the surrounding convenience store walls. The empty shelves reverberated with the sound waves. Sprite collapsed to the ground, sobbing. Trying to pull himself together, he wiped away his tears after awhile, and stood up. The convenience store hummed quietly. Sprite listened for the source of the sound, tracking to a small fridge in the back. A single can of soda stood in the dimly lit fridge, just beyond the dirty glass door, smudged with fingerprints. Sprite gently opened the door, and took out the can of soda, shaking it vigorously before opening it and exploding it in his face. He gulped down the sugary carbonated drink, and wiped his face. "There's work to be done... and no one to do it." Sprite sighed, and stood up straight. "I guess it's up to me".
