~ Introduction ~ "Technically, this palace shouldn't exist... It is built more on memories, feelings, and past thoughts than real stone now..." "A perfect place to host one of my games, is it not?" "Yes, but the castle is troubled, and who knows what might happen?" ~Next round starts May 6!~ Setting of Round 11 ~The Concealed Castle~ Long ago, long enough that no one /living/ remembers it, a castle was built for the inhabitation of a wealthy family... However, a mysterious, alluring woman, known only as the 'enchantress', managed to gain the trust of the family, and eventually seized control of the castle. The family vanished, never to be seen again, and a thick, unnatural mist shrouded the intricate stone castle, making it seem even more other-worldly than before. Over time, the magic of the enchantress permeated the very walls of the castle, causing it to behave in odd ways... Staircases would shift, secret passages block themselves off, and paintings and other inanimate objects would become, well, not inanimate. (Think the castle from Harry Potter-) For many years, the only inhabitant of the mysterious building was the elusive enchantress, but now, many people find themselves trapped in the castle, only one purpose in mind- Find the ki|ler, or remain trapped forever.
~ Background character bio ~ The Enchantress // Seems to be around 20, but is actually multiple centuries old // female // Although she appears human, it's certain that she's not // There is something both striking and unnerving in the distant, regal appearance of the Enchantress. She possesses a full head of straight, shimmery blonde hair, holding an odd metallic glint at all times. On closer inspection, it becomes quite clear that her waist length hair is actually an unusual shade of silver. Her eyes are the stormy, muted color of a turbulent sea, their color a blend of both intense blue and reflective gray, and are surrounded by a fringe of thick, silvery lashes. Her brows are significantly darker than her hair, more of a slate gray than anything else, and they are very thin and straight. Her nose is formed quite sharply, almost as pointed as the tapered edges of her eyes, and is otherwise unnoticeable. Her lips are unnaturally pale, barely varying in color from the rest of her skin, but shaped delicately enough to make her seem to be perpetually and coolly amused. When she accidentally allows her hair to shift away from the sides of her face- a rare occurrence, but one that happens all the same- her ears are revealed, the fact that they narrow into a point quite obvious. Her skin is very pale, possessing a crystalline, barely transparent quality, and perfectly accentuates the fact that her narrow face seems to have been sculpted out of ivory. She is on the tallest side, towering slightly over most people, and has a slim, graceful figure. // Even though her outfit very slightly from day to day, the basic features generally remain the same. She wears a long, flowing down of filmy silver satin, sweeping against the floor just enough for a fact. The bodice fits her slender waist perfectly, with gathered, off-the-shoulder sleeves that expose her narrow shoulders and arms. The long skirt falls in rippling folds from the high waistline, twisted elegantly at her right hip, and is adorned with a single pale gray rose. A detailed, spiraling floral pattern, embroidered with sparkling gray thread, winds across the neckline, travels down the left side of the bodice, and cascades in panels down her skirt. She wears lightweight slippers, actually made of glass, but she shows no discomfort at this unusual footwear. She wears a cloudy sapphire on a chain around her throat, and matching jewels in both of her ears. Occasionally she will wear a gauzy, almost transparent cloak flung around her, but this is usually only if she's trying to flaunt her role as an enchantress. // If one had to sun up the Enchantress's personality in one single word, it would definitely be "dangerous". Known for taking over the palace, most likely annihilating the family who used to inhabit it, and practicing daring, extremely powerful spells, this woman is definitely not one to take lightly. She usually comes off as having perfect control over her emotions, betraying no sudden reactions, and is very skilled at seeming collected and mocking. Her knowledge of the world, while very detailed, has made her haughty and scornful, and she meets any opposition with a calm belief that she will come out on top. It is very, very hard to make her exhibit anger, but when she does, the object of her anger rarely continues unharmed for long. Vengeful and creative in her methods of revenge, trying to stand against her will almost always end in disaster, unless her opponent is wise enough to hide. In spite of this, because of her intensely focused nature, it is actually rather easy to trick the Enchantress, if necessary. It's easy to believe that she feels no emotions at all, but that's not quite true... She is just adept at hiding them under a remote, stately veil. Although she has complete control of the castle, she generally doesn't aim to harm people, unless they stand in her way, so, at the moment, she doesn't plan on outright attacking any of the guests. She rarely associates with anyone, however, which has made it hard for her to read the emotions and inflections of anyone she actually talks to, and she definitely does not have a sense of humor. She can be biting and sardonic when she wants to, but it's not quite the same thing. Cold, demanding, and conniving, the Enchantress is a force to be reckoned with... Unless someone managed to see what's really hiding beneath the surface. // Anything made of silver, power, remote castles, for whatever reasons, mist, water, quietness, magic, sapphires... If there's anything else, she doesn't show it // Obstinate, rebellious people, damage to the castle, anything mundane or ordinary, black and red decor, casualness // Not much is known, other than what is already written in the description... // Silver //
