~ Day 8 ~ As per the last update, I was able to lunge Storm and get him used to the halter and lead rope. So, the first thing I did today has put the halter on, and he was surprisingly calm when I did. We did some lunging which went well, and he got even more used to being led around by a lead rope. Now, the next step was getting Storm used to weight on his back. I brought out the saddle pad and tried to get it on his back. But, of course, he was being quite frisky and cantered away each time the saddle pad touched him. So, I brought out some treats to try to distract him which worked out perfectly. and soon the saddle pad was on. I let him trot around for a couple of minutes before re-attaching the lead rope to lunge him again but with the saddle pad. Storm did well today and got used to the saddle pad while we were lunging.
