Question 1: What do you think happens when a living cat is buggifyed? - As we've seen before, when a (d3ad) cat is buggified, their body is turned into bugs, which their soul is trapped within. The body reforms if all bugs are killed, but this may just be due to the fact that d3ad cats don't have real bodies (their bodies are left behind and buried when they die), so all that has to reform is a representation of them. None of this may hold true for living cats, because the living world is bound to reality while StarClan and the Dark Forest are more fantastical. Because of said binding to reality, I don't think a cat could be buggified in the living world; they'd have to travel to SC/DF first. This means, since their physical body doesn't travel with them, it would remain intact, and only their representation would turn to bugs. Their soul would still be trapped within the bugs, but it might take more effort to transform them because they have a tie to the living world. Their body would not be able to be awakened in the real world because their soul would not be able to inhabit it, so their bug form would function exactly as that of a d3ad cat's bug form until the bugs are smashed and they are released. Upon being released from bug form, the cat would either be able to return to their body in the real world or be effectively d3ad and a permanent resident of SC/DF due to the amount of time they spent out of their body. Question 2: Can you predict what will happen next chapter? - We've seen much of Saffron's plan take place already, so next chapter will finish the recap and move on to steps 13 and 14. As for probable events, there's most likely a reason Ginkgo didn't stay with Saffron, so we might see some of that (perhaps him interacting with Silverpelt or exploring his new powers). Saffron will find Reedstar as well, as we've seen both her and Lostriver's bugs assisting Saffron. Shiningstream may or may not do anything else notable in the recap since the most recent time we saw him he was trying (and failing haha) to repair the damage Saffron and the bugs had done. Frost and Moon apparently rescued Goldenfur and Ratstar sometime between when we see them enter SC and when they enter the mushroom grove, so maybe we'll get a flashback to that. Shining and Saffron are bound to have some sort of confrontation, and I can see Saffron possibly getting buggified. Question 3: How many cats will get buggifed? - Probably just one. Shining will be fuming, but SC will probably get wise and turn against him if he buggifies too many cats. Question 4: Who do you think will get buggified next chapter? - If Shining can manage it, then Saffron. He'll probably get cocky after he was able to buggify Lostriver and try to get Saffron even though he's alive. Also possibly a random background cat, if, for example, they get wise about Shining's shenanigans and he needs to keep them quiet, however this is a lot less likely than Saffron. Eliminating options: A. Nobody - Most of these questions are about bugs. Also, Shining is getting reckless and steaming mad so he'll probably use it as catharsis if nothing else. C. Cricketpaw, H. Frostface, I. Moonpaw, K. Thunderclanmedcat - Shining is unlikely to go after the med cats, as he bears them no particular malice and would get himself in hot water, what with them being alive and also med cats. Also in the case of Frost and Moon, they are part of another arc and being bugs would disrupt said arc. D. Ginkgowing - After buggifying Lostriver (who was an immediate threat), Shining now has nothing to gain from buggifying Silverpelt's speaker, and he knows that Silverpelt could choose Saffron or someone else in direct opposition to him as the new speaker. Ginkgo also has not done anything to aggravate Shining yet and is relatively harmless until he harnesses his full potential or is used by Saffron. E. Goldenfur - There is a slight chance Golden will be buggified since she is both annoying and directly opposing him, but she isn't as plot-important as Saffron, so if he's going to buggify one cat, it won't be her. F. Ratstar - Ratstar is as neutral and pacifistic as he's going to get, and Shining has no reason to buggify him. G. Shiningstream - Shining is the one buggifying cats and there is nothing to suggest other cats have the ability. The only case in which this might happen is if Ginkgo buggifies him in self-defense. J. Laurelwing - Laurel has already been buggified, so it would be a bit redundant. She is also not directly involved in this scene, and is pretty unaccessible (as she's currently in the DF). Seems unlikely. M. Morningrose - Morningrose is neutral, and Shining is using her to rally support against the DF. She is not involved in the scene and probably won't be, plus it would hurt Shining's aims to buggify her. [continued in n&c]
N. Silverpelt - There's actually a chance that Silverpelt gets buggified, but it's unlikely because not only is she potentially powerful enough to prevent it, that would be going too far and Shining would lose all support from SC. Something probably will happen to Silverpelt though, as in the Deceptacon meme we see her turn into a star. I don't have any likely theories about what that is yet.
