The last chapter was pretty exciting, and scary, right? Well here’s some more! Ava had flown around her town eleven times before she got tired. She decided she would have to get books about dragons at the library, to learn more about herself. She was perfectly happy flying about, but she felt a tugging sensation, like she had to be somewhere. The hospital! The doctors and nurses must be worried sick, and my mom. She flew back to the roof of the hospital and lay down on her stomach. She felt the same thing happen as when she turned into a dragon. Her soul left the dragon and it flopped to one side. Dead? Ava thought. But then she saw the dragon’s short breaths. No, still alive, barely. Is that what happened to my human body? She turned and floated through an open window. She was looking in the rooms, trying to find herself, when a nurse appeared out of nowhere! She tried to go around but she was too slow. she braced for impact, but it never came. She just went straight through her and the nurse shivered. Cool. She thought. Ava finally found the room where her mother was frantically peeking through the window. She flew through the door and right back into her own body. She started breathing heavily and the doctors stood back in surprise. Her mother rushed in and touched Ava’s cheeks. “I thought I lost you…” She whispered. Ava smiled, “What? I’ve been here all this time.” Her mother laughed and most of the doctors left. “What did you feel? Did you feel anything?” A young-looking man about eighteen in a white lab coat asked. “I felt like I was flying.” Ava said, grinning. The man sat back and muttered something under his breath. The woman beside him, who looked twenty-something, nodded, then turned to Ava. “Flying? With wings, or floating?” The man and woman leaned in close. “Wings,” Ava gave Dr. Hattie, her usual doctor, a puzzled look. Dr. Hattie shrugged. The man and woman looked at each other and smiled. “Like a dragon?” The man asked. Ava sat straighter. “Yes, why?” The man just smiled. “I’m Justin Lee, and this is Diana Rosemery.” Diana smiled warmly, but it seemed to have a catch to it. “We’d like you to come over for some tea when you're better, if your mom’s OK with it.” Justin and Diana looked at Ava’s mom, and Diana seemed to be whispering something. Her mom nodded slowly. “I think we could make that work…” She didn’t seem to be paying attention to anyone in the room, she looked like she was remembering something. “Why, yes! Of course she can go, maybe soon…” She winked at Justin and he smirked. What is going on? Ava thought desperately. I don’t trust these Justin and Diana characters... Previous: Next: Coming Soon!
