Hey, look at that, Dipper found a new random hobby that they're going to obsess over for a while. This project only really happened because I needed a new bodice for a Renaissance faire costume, so I thought, why not make it? The bodice isn't completely finished, but I thought I'd dye it anyway, and it turned out amazing! Picture 1: A scrap of fabric that I dyed as a test. Picture 2: The bodice itself. It isn't going to be such a vibrant purple when it's completely dry; it'll probably turn out more like the test fabric. Picture 3: The fabric being dyed. This was actually a really easy and fun project. The dye isn't hard to get; all you need to do is soak some black beans overnight, then mix the poured-off bean water with a little bit of white vinegar. I think I let the bodice sit for...45 minutes? Something like that. I don't know how well the dye will stick after washing, though.
