(Warning: violence ig) "Ren? B-Bdubs?? Uh- …Me?." Scar stuttered, eyes darting back and forth between his friends. His Alternate self grinned manically. “Yes, it is I! Your worst nightmare!” He chuckled, apparently finding himself to be hilarious. Scar started shaking violently. Grian grabbed his hand and tried to steady him, but he was in his own world, alone, miserable, and inconsolable. Scar took a deep breath. “W-what did you do to them?” Alt Scar cocked his head to the side like a confused puppy, but much more sinister. “Y-you turned them into fungus zombies!” He cried, his voice breaking. “Those are my friends! You can’t just.. just…” Scar trailed off as his gaze slid to Ren and Bdubs. Alt Scar sighed impatiently. Scar slid out of Grian’s grasp. He slowly stepped over to where the zombies stood. They hadn’t reacted, moved, or even blinked since they arrived. They showed no recognition for their old friend as he approached. “Y-you guys? Are you in there?” Scar waved his hand gently in front of their faces. Nothing. Alt Scar tapped his foot on the ground quickly and impatiently. “They won’t respond you know. Your little friends are gone. I’d do the whole ‘trapped in their own minds’ monologue thing, but I really can’t. They’re dead. All that remains… is :me:” Scar slowly turned to face his alternate self, tears welling up in his rage filled eyes. “Scar.. no.” Grian whispered to him, recognizing that expression all too well. Scar didn’t seem to hear. He drew his sword, snarling. “How dare you.” He hissed. Alternate Scar raised his eyebrows. “Well well well. This is getting interesting.” He snapped his fingers and his zombified hermit minions instantly drew their own swords. All the hermits leapt into action, grabbing swords and axes, prepared to protect their friend. However, before they could even take a step, Alternate Scar held up a hand in the direction of his attackers. Tendrils of fungus shot up from the ground, ensnaring everyone and bundling them up in their own tiny cocoons, where they were utterly helpless. Only their heads weren’t covered, and that didn’t do them much good. Grian rolled on his side so he could see the action. Scar and the zombies were still having a stare off, each waiting for the other to attack. Alternate Scar looked both amused and bored. Grian so desperately wanted to use his full potential and exterminate this pest, but the consequences would be catastrophic. “Scar!!” He yelled. “Don’t be baited! You can’t win!” Scar ignored him. He spread his wings, not bothering to disguise them. His skin turned grey, and his hair started to float from the dark energy he was radiating. Alternate Scar drew his own sword. “This is going to be fun” “SCAR!” Grian screamed. Scar didn’t hear him. He couldn’t. Scar had finally snapped. ~~ Grian didn’t get to see much. Scar and his opponents were all a blur and they flew into a frenzied fight. Scar was doing pretty well considering it was 1v3. Nobody seemed to be doing much damage to each other, it was just a delicate dance of blocks and parrying. That was, until Alternate Scar lost patience. “This has been great fun,” he said, grunting as he blocked an attack from Scar. “But we really must settle down now.” Scar just roared in his face (which Grian hadn’t known he could do), and continued his attack. Alternate Scar rolled his eyes, and pushed Scar back so hard he stumbled and fell. That’s when Grian noticed how bad he was doing, he was sweaty and tired and covered in wounds. He couldn’t keep this up for much longer. “You’re a fool.” Alternate Scar hissed. “As amusing as this was, I don’t have time for games.” His zombie lackeys came to his side, looking almost unscathed. Bdubs had a nasty cut on his soldier, and Ren was limping, but otherwise, they were perfectly fine. Scar’s breathing was labored now. His hands were shaking and he could barely hold on to his sword. He tried to get up, but his Alternate self made a flicking motion with his hands, and Scar was tied down by his wrists and ankles by fungus vines. He thrashed and roared, but it did no good. Alternate Scar approached him. “Aww, you look so cute when you’re pathetic and helpless.” He cooed, tapping him on the nose. “Now don’t fight this too much, ‘kay?” He grabbed Scar’s arm, digging his nails into his flesh. Tiny spores seemed to appear from nowhere, and curled down his arm until they reached Scar. The spores dug their way into his skin, causing Scar’s veins to run bright purple. His pitiful cry of agony brought tears to Grian’s eyes. Unlike Bdubs, this change wasn’t flashy, it wasn’t a spectacle. It simply… happened. All too quickly, it was over. Scar stood up shakily. His hair covering his tear streaked face. He looked up. “Scar?” Grian whispered. Scar said nothing, but grinned back at him with bright purple eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’ve been putting this off for too long, and for that I am truly sorry. I pinky swear I won’t procrastinate quite as much next time, but I can only access Scratch when I’m at my dads, and I’m only there every two weekends, so theres that… Anyway. This was certainly a very interesting chapter :) Hehehehehehehehe I’m so evil. I was tempted to end the chapter at “Scar had finally snapped” but I decided to spare you. The thumbnail is so edgy <3
