Backstory: Spiky neon’s perspective. Joy, unlike her appearance, was quite exciting and had bright plans. Surprisingly, she wanted to be a cake artist. Being thirteen years old and ready to go to Highschool, Joy had a feeling that things would change. After all, all she could ask for was that people would understand the perspective of abstract art, and her love for neon colors only made a beautiful contrast against black, silent and peaceful like the night sky. That didn’t happen. She was picked on, and called an “emo freak”. Crying, Joy found a place by the stairwell to hide herself while in tears. Plenty people muttered upon seeing her, until a student came over. He had horns and wings like a dragon, and to Joy’s shock, found himself a seat right next to her. “What’s wrong?” He asked. Joy didn’t know how to answer, and turned away. “You, of all people wouldn’t understand. I’ll never achieve my dreams, and it’s because of this school and these people!” But still, he stayed. “Don’t let other people hurt you. Everybody is unique in their own way, and if they can’t see the real you, then it’s their problem”. He grinned. “What’s your name? I’m Shell” “I’m Joy.” She hadn’t felt this way before, but a spark lighted inside her. She could change this. It WAS her future, after all. “Thanks.” Backstory: striped dragon’s perspective. What did he need? Shell had everything; friends, a loving family, and popularity at his high school. Plus, the high school he went to was the BEST HIGHSCHOOL there ever was in south gates city. Everybody who went there had potential, and because of that, it was IMPOSSIBLE to be upset, right? That changed when he met Joy. After an encounter with her, he saw her more often. “Is this what I’m missing? Somebody who understands art and myself?” Shell wondered to himself. He watch Joy become more popular in the school, and with a sigh of relief, realized that she was being herself. Nobody would dare mess with her. But what about him? Every time he saw her, his stomach would feel strange. Like dragonflies were in it. Suddenly, one night, everything changed. It was Shell’s soccer match against willow pond grove, and that’s when Joy asked him; “Do you want to be friends?” Of course he said yes. But he had a feeling… Maybe one day they would be more than ‘just friends’
