Perfect, part No. 2, Julia's 16th TW: Hospitals, illness, yelling Please read the first part for more context! LOOK AT MY COMMENT IN THE COMMENTS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good reading music lol: https://youtu.be/W9YrFVwwuus January 24th, Julia's 16th birthday Julia stared out the window with a blank face; she looked worried. "What's up, Jules?" "What do you mean!!??!!? What's up?!? My grandma's in the hospital, Lyne!!" Normally Julia would get mad at me for calling her pet names, but now she didn't even care. "Look, Julia… I'm sorry. I know your grandma is so important to y-" "YOU THINK? I've lived with her Ever since I was 5, when my parents…" she cut off there, and I completely unstood. Ever since her grandma started suffering around half a year ago, Julia had had a very bad temper issue. I sighed; it's probably best if I leave her alone. It was a hard thought to accept. Julia really means a lot to me; she brings life to the quartet me and her are both a part of; me being second violin, and her being first. Even though she's a great musician, I've found that along with her anger management, her playing has also been suffering. She hasn't been learning pieces not as fast due to her mistakes getting to her head, and will randomly stop the quartet, and instead of her being angry at others, she'd be angry at herself, quite openly. I still have a hard time getting used to it. She's definitely not the cocky, confident Violinist I used to know, constantly bragging about all the competitions she'd won. I pulled into the hospital and parked carefully; even though I had just got my license, I still was scared of messing up and possibly hurting people. ••• As soon as Lyne parked the car, I grabbed the flowers I bought for my grandma, jumped out of Lynn's jeep, and slammed the door, frustrated. He looked back at me for a second, sort of shocked, but it didn't take long for him to recover and soon enough he was also out of the car, walking beside me. He reached for my hand that was on the flowers- I slapped it and gave him a cold glance before holding my head high, proudly, and continuing to walk. "How many fugen' times do I have to tell this man I'm aromantic???" I thought, alongside a bunch of curses running through my head. "Ju-" "I'm fine, Lyne." It meant a lot to me that at least someone cares about me, but I didn't feel like it. I sighed and cleared my mind; it was my birthday, and I was going to see my grandma! I should brighten up. It's been a month too long since I've seen her. Soon enough we were walking back to my grandma's room, led by the same nurse last time. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the kind smile of my grandma. I rushed to the side of her bed. "Julia!" She said, turning her face to see me. I smiled back at her; I hadn't been this happy since the last time I'd seen her. "Happy birthday, dear." "Thanks, grandma. I love you." I smiled at her. I stood up, the flowers still in my hands. "Are those cherry blossoms, Julia?" My grandma looked at the gorgeous flowers. "Of course. What other flowers would I get you other than your favorite?" I said, setting them down on a chair nearby. "I'll ask the nurse to grab a glass of some sort to place these blossoms in." "Julia, come here," I pulled out another chair and placed it by my grandma's bed, and once again I was right beside her. "Do you remember why I love cherry blossoms, Julia?" "Of course! they remind you of your favorite piece; Tchaikovsky's Melodie. (Melodie: https://youtu.be/2N006ipbTNE) " I smiled at her. "Yes, Julia! Remember when you learned Melodie?" The only thing I responded with was a nostalgic laugh. My grandma soon noticed Lyne. "Well, mister, don't think I'm not happy to see you, too!" She said brightly, signaling him to come sit beside Julia. He pulled the chair over and sat down. "Thank you for bringing my granddaughter over, Lyne. How is your violin playing coming along?" "It's going just fine. Orchestra auditions were just recently, and I made first violin. But, of course, Julia's still concertmaster." I smiled proudly. "Of course she is; she's my granddaughter, after all." She smiled at me, all her pride in me showing in her face alone. These were the moments I cherished. This is what made my birthday so special.
My rusty story writing skills lol This beautiful thumbnail bc I had to make one on scratch ;-; Lyne for being so kind ^^ Once I introduce the quartet (which will happen in the next part), I'll most likely make oc sheets for everyone. Also in case you didn't see the comment on my profile, I have no device to upload photos from so no daily sketch today. :)
