Light. What a strange and wondrous new experience. Legendkit had up until this point been bathed in darkness, his entire world a mystery. Until now. What was going on? Legendkit was slightly frightened by this unfamiliar haze, shiny and almost even painful. He scrunched up his nose, tentatively opening one eyelid. He didn't even know they did that! What an odd concept. He would have to ponder this later, as opening his eyes required his full attention. Oh. What was this? Legendkit had fully opened one eye, letting out a squeak as the sensitive orb adjusted to the semi-darkness. Even the dull blue light of the WindClan crystals seemed bright to him. Wow. Legendkit was struck by awe. Could kittens be struck by awe? Another question for later, something to be stowed in the box of his never-ending queries. The WindClan nursery was nothing to special or outstanding, but to a kitten that had just spent his first few days surrounded by eternal darkness, it was breathtaking. Sapphire and emerald, two exquisitely hued eyes glowing through the dim light. The mist was lifted, the gems revealed as Legendkit's eyes broke open. And oh, what a sight the world was. There was his Dada, his /Dada/, gazing down at him with love and happiness and pure adoration. He looked on either side of him, to where a smaller, fluffy tom laid, curled up at his side. An elegant sand-colored she-kit, mewling softly. A fierce rush of affection flooded through Legendkit. It surprised him. He had never felt such a feeling, such a /desire/ to protect and take care of someone. Yet that was what he felt about his littermates. If Legendkit could put into words what he felt in this here moment, opening his jewelled green and blue eyes for the first moment, the sermon would never end. Alas, while he was granted the delightful gift of sight, Legendkit had yet to attain the power of speech. So until then, until he could voice his pleasures, he would lay here, curled up with his littermates and his Dada, watching the world go by. What a wondrous discovery indeed.
