USE TURBO MODE (Shift-click the green flag). The "Adjacent/Cardinal" button at the bottom left corner of the screen decides if tiles can connect diagonally (Adjacent meaning they can, Cardinal meaning they cannot). Click on it to change that setting. TileLifetime determines how long a tile can last before turning grey and becoming unusable. TileDecayTime determines how long grey tiles stay in the grid before being deleted.
