Steel OS 3 Beta 2 Build 2204 [Version 3.0.2204 "Zenon"] Compiled: 12:44 PM EST 12 May 2023 Patch Notes: - Added 2 new wallpapers - Removed Easter eggs (N+M+6/7, 0+G, and M+T key combos) to make the stock version more professional. Of course, I will develop a program that brings back the functionalities of the Easter eggs, which will be available in the program "Marketplace" when I develop it. - Added new visual theme: Steel OS Aero 4. Based on the unreleased Steel OS Aero 3, this visual theme gives the system a more glassy look and feel. Note that Aero 2 will be retained, made available later in development, and renamed "Steel OS Basic 4" to make it in-line with Windows Vista (the beta of which, being the inspiration for the UI) - Added new icons for Memo and File Browser. Other programs are due to follow suit. - Changed the startup screen. - Changed the look of the cursor. - Changed the default background AGAIN because I want the default background to be a picture of grass. - This build patched a late bug where the (once were) secret Nanami Madobe backgrounds would be used as placeholder backgrounds for BG12 and BG13 in programs like Memo, Paint, and Quanty. - Changed the position of the "Open" button in File Browser. - Added a new stop error screen. Known Issues: - Possible issue with Memo's close or minimize button. May have been fixed, don't clearly remember. - A lot of the elements of Quanty are broken. I know, I know! With stuff like this, the Internet isn't that essential. - Some issues with Calculator are present that I cannot fix due to the limitations of my knowledge with Scratch. - Memo may have issues with some keys not working. I've decided that I'm instead only going to focus on a punctuation system using alternative keys in order to prevent the need for keys that may cause issues. - Music Player has a slightly messed up UI. This will be fixed! - Dock Control buttons still use Steel OS Basic 4 graphics. I need to fix that. - Shortcuts aren't fully calibrated, nor are they up-to-date. That's the least of my priority, just like with Steel OS 2.0's development. - Some parts of the main menu may look out-of-place. I will patch that in the future. - PDF Reader and Marketplace don't have dedicated dock titles. This is to be fixed. - (17 May 2023) An issue is present where when the system crashes, it still uses the initial position from the previous crash screen.
- Created entirely myself. - Full source will be made available near the final release. This includes graphics, code, and reference sheets used to develop the software. - Licensed under GNU General Public License version 3.0 - This project is not a video game, but is instead system software. If you're looking for a game that looks like an OS, I would recommend Progressbar95. - This project is SteelsOfLiquid pre-release software. It may not be complete, and it may have a lot of bugs and issues.
