The last thing I wanted to do was go to school with my annoying cousins, Ivy and Dimond. But, of course, and with my luck, that all happened. "Whyyyy, mom?!?" I moaned, trudging up towards Magickton Academy for Gifted and Talented Elementals. "Because this school will teach you things me and your father can't!" my mother chirped. "You'll also make new friends. After that disastrous birthday party, don't you want new friends?" "You mean people that blindly follow you around for no reason? Yeah, no thank you." I answered. Also, why would anyone wanna be my friend? Everyone either knew me and hated me, or was scared of me. We walked in silence the rest of the way. When we got to the huge double doors, we pushed them open, and inside the huge castle-like academy was a tall lady with white hair waiting to greet us. "Hello. I'm Headmistress Mobile. Welcome to Magickton Academy for Gifted and Talented Elementals. What can I help you with, ladies?" "Hello, Headmistress Mobile. I am Queen Arriana of the Air Kingdom, and I'm here to enroll my child, Storm, into your beautiful academy." my mother replied. "Oh! My Queen." Mobile fell into a deep bow. "It's midterm, m'lady. It will take a week or two to fill out the forms--" My mother, as queen of the air, could use the air to choke people. Guess what she did. As soon as my mom let down a hyperventilating Mobile. she quickly ran to her office with my mom to get the papers signed. I was left alone, staring at a wave of kids staring at me. After a while, I heard two voices I was very sick of hearing; it was Ivy and Dimond. “OMIGOSH! Stormy! I didn’t know you were transferring here! You’ll LOVE this place! It has a great cafe, great teachers,- -” Dimond started squealing. “Shut UP, Dimond. Besides, I knew they were transferring. I know everything about her.” Ivy said snootily. I shot her a massive eye roll. “Okay, okay, y’all. Shut up. You’re both idiots.” I said truthfully. "And also, Dimond, NEVER call me Stormy again." Before Dimond could reply, my mother and Headmistress Mobile came tromping up to me. "Alright, Ms. Storm. You're all set. Would you like Ivy or Dimond here to be your guide?" Mobile asked me. I glanced at a pouting Ivy and an over-excited Dimond before replying. "No. I'll show myself around, thank you. Good day." I replied, tearing a map out of Mobile's hand. As soon as I was out of their sight, I tore the map up,and threw the remains in the trash. "How hard could it be?" I said. Oh, how naive. Within the first five minutes, I was lost. Yes, the great Storm Windwing was lost. In an academy. How pathetic. Anyhow, I’d picked a torch from the wall a while back, and I could see enough so I wasn’t slamming into walls constantly. I walked along carefully, making sure not to step on anything, when I heard something. It faint first, barely noticeable. But I heard it- - trickling water. I assumed there was a fountain of somewhat close, so I moved towards it. As I got closer, though, I heard another sound. Footsteps. Moving towards me quickly. I stumbled back, but tripping over my own feet, I flew backwards. I prepared for the pain to shock through me when I’d hit the ground… But it never came. Instead, I was sitting on what felt like a little bubble. I was inside a huge bubble! A person in front of me, who couldn’t be that much older than me, was holding the bubble together. “Hello! I’m Hurricane. Are you lost? Err, are you new?” I grumbled, then added quietly “Yeah.” “I can help show you ‘round, if you want.” they replied. I started to stand up in the bubble, but instantly fell back over. My ankle was swollen; probably broken, at best sprained. “Oh, jeez! Here, I’ll get you to the infirmary.” Before I could dismiss them, I was pushed back wards. The bubble was moving. Fast. I decided to sit down and wait. After I came out of the infirmary with a cast around my ankle, I saw Hurricane waiting for me. “I never caught your name.” they asked me. “Storm. Storm Windwing.” I replied. “Oh! Your mom is Queen Ariana? That’s so cool!” “Yeah. Don’t bother calling me ‘princess’ or whatever. I gave that title to my cousin.” “OK. Do you need help finding your dorm?” Hurricane asked, changing the topic. “Actually, I was gonna go talk to my cousins for a bit.” “OK. I’ll show you ‘round.” And THAT is how I met Hurricane Venomsting.
